I am hoping they make the climb for leveling a little harder to stifle some of this. Don't get me wrong, there will always be people that will hit max level very quickly when a new class drops, but I am really hoping they slow leveling down at least a little from 1.0.it would suck to release the SMN job late people will probably have Arc lv50 in days, they should leave it out if its not complete, dont know about you guys but always getting unfinshed broken content aint good, that won't cut it after launch.
watch the next job be something we dont know about since everyone and my self already thinks is musketeer because its missing from V1.0.
Also, thats entirely possible since 2.0 seems to have retouched the cities and that could mean what guilds are in them. Personally if its something other than muskateer I would love to see them start putting guilds in the hamlets. LIke a thf guild in a shady little town outside Uldah or something. Or maybe in one of those cave systems outside Uldah like where little Al Mhigo was. LOTS of possibilities!
If they do release musketeer I along with summoner, I would also be a bit giddy. The only problem would then be to decide which should I level to first.
Well he already said they were working on Ninja, Samurai and Musketeer. Yoshi just didnt know which one to release first along side Musketeer. Could all be just smoke and mirrors on our side and he was really working on all 3 because he knows how popular they are.If its Muskateer that leaves the interesting question of what job that class gets. Thief doesn't really work at least from a story stand point as it would seem Muskateers are honorable jobs (although certainly I could see a thief using a pistol instead of a dagger np). Same goes for Ninja then not working for many of the same reasons as thief. That leaves Rdm, which would be totally sweet if only to see the classic rdm af with a pistol instead of a sword, but again, that's a stretch. It leaves me VERY interested in finding out what job they eventually give that class whenever they decide to put it in the game. It really strikes me as THE class they could build a job off of we haven't seen before, maybe something that helps define XIV a little bit as its own FF. Again, a stretch I know, but its possible.
If they do another class for launch, among other things they could leave out, I could see them leaving it out of beta as a surprise. Even if we don't get a new class at launch besides Arc, I really DO hope they surprise us with stuff we don't get in beta. In the age of spoilers, I am counting on them to leave at least a few cards up their sleeve. Yoshi P doesn't strike me as the type that plays all his hand until he's ready
I believe Ninja will have a thief class the way this game is working out. Just going off how they treated archer to become bard(odd combination) archer should have been a ranger
Musketeer will be a ranged class not sure what job will take its place. Probably RedMage (once again going off how they made archer a bard and those concept pics of the RedMage holding a pistol and rapier) <-- I think those pics are valid easter eggs as all the other concept art on the designers web page have to do with a game already out.
Which leaves Samurai, probably will be off the Fencer class, as Fencer in Japanese, translate to Kendo.
I see all three of these jobs coming to us next year for sure though (hopefully for ARR release, that would be a nice treat) just because Yoshi has spewed these 3 jobs from his lips during interviews.
Dark Knight could be in the mix as well for a total of 4 new jobs, as it mirrors Paladin, which I would see as a nice start, having 5 new jobs being release along side each other, pre/ sort wait-post release, of ARR.
Devs could see planning and shipping out basic classes easier to do, and for something for us to play with. While working on the Jobs last work take more time as they would have to work in the lore and such, as those are the quest related part of the class. They haven't even finished with the summoner job (said it most likely wouldn't be in at launch and implemented in first patch) and you think they are going to add a new class and job at launch on top of that? Possible, but highly unlikely. Don't get my wrong, I would love new classes. It's one of the main things I think the game is missing, but I don't think balancing out classes per city is reason to believe a new class will be at launch.
We can't assume the devs can't handle stuff as we don't know what they have been working on in the pasts months. And Yoshi is not gonna admit every single cool thing the game is going to have at launch.
I can easily see the dev popping out 4-5 classes for release and worrying about job lore, advancements afterwards. I for one would mind that. Give me my Kendo class for crying out loud ...heheh
Everyone should be happy Archanist is 100%, because it's basically the Summoner job with a silly pet name.
Look how we found out about it weeks before it was release, by a fluke webpage mis-hap
It makes sense for them to have between 2-5 ready, being worked on for ARR pre-post release. As the majority of people sticking with this game are the FF fans, and most of us have all current class at 50.
I guaranty they have their list of classes (Samurai, Ninja, Thief, Redmage, Darknight) These are the classes the majority of the fan base loves. And yoshi said himself that class will come out through updates. For people thinking we are only going to see a new class with an expansion (1 year wait)

"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."
I tried looking for the old 1.0 mined list of classes and found iiiiit
If you can not read it here:
Puglist ✔
Gladiator ✔
Maruder ✔
Fencer
Enforcer
Archer ✔
Lancer ✔
Musketeer
Sentinel
Samurai
Stavesman
Assassin
Flayer
Mystic
Thaumaturge ✔
Conjurer ✔
Arcanist ✔
Bard ✔
DoL:
Herding
Now... interestingly you can see Bard and Archer were originally different classes... or so it leaves us to believe.
But, as always take anything pre 2.0 with a grain of salt as it may have changed concept more then once ^^

I would go weak in the galka knees if they added blue Mage
Sentinel is part of Gladiator/Paladin. When XIV first launched, you would gain exp for Sentinel, which gave you shield skills.I tried looking for the old 1.0 mined list of classes and found iiiiit
