2nd new class theory

i see it also when 2.0 hits their will be arcanist everywhere, and parties will most likely have 5-6 acn in them just from the addition of the class. LL will be very packed from everyone being acn so hopefully 2.0 servers can handle it. And the reasons why their are going to be many acn around are:

1) all the ppl having every class at 50 will level it just to have it at 50
2) all the ppl who wanted to play it from the start and couldnt
3) all the ppl who are just curious and want to try it
4) all the newcomers to take into account that will play it

Now going along with what biggs said about musketeer being realeased with arcanist at 2.0 start will help balance the influx of everyone being on one class. but LL will still be packed and probably become the 2.0 verison of uldah from 1.0

Not creating threads for responses, just pointing out that this topic seems way more interesting than half the crap people choose to respond too. There is no accounting for what some people find interesting I guess. I must be getting old.....

You should have titled your thread:

"Why SE will FAIL if they don't make a 2nd Class"

As others have said here, SE has always released at least 2 jobs in FFXI at a time to avoid a glut of one sort out in the world. Even though we will have an influx of new players, the volume of current players all leveling Arcanist will be overwhelming, so I think a new class would be prudent.

Then again, since leveling is mostly achieved via quests, and Arcanist looks like a solid solo-er, they might be purposely ignoring class-balancing EXP parties.

OMG I would love this! and it would be Musketeer since they had a guild for it in Limsa, but that can easily be changed in 2.0 but who knows! oooo i like the idea of this secret class we don't know about yet

it would make sense that SE is making other class for 2.0 release just taking out one seem a little odd the FFXI always release from 2-3 so i see at least other class if not then w/e i don't really mind one day i get to play on samurai again

Im thinking the same thing OP. For one thing, yoshi has always said, as far as adding new classes, that he would have to add what is needed before what he would just want to add. If you look at the roles of all the current classes/ jobs, you'll notice one type is missing: a thf/nin type.

We have tanks, healers, magic and physical dd. We have buffers, and with the addition of arcanist/summoner we will also have a debuff specialist. It seems logical the next type to add would be a rouge/thief type. Musketeer could fill this role easily.

Another reason is if you are going to add a new class, you need to add them in 2's or 3's. If you don't (especially in this game where everyone has all or most classes to 50) youre gonna see waaaaaay yoo many arcanists running around. People that want to play it will play it. Combined with the people who play it just to have all classes capped its way too much.

Hopefully since beta starts soon we'll see. It wouldn't make sense to me not to be able to play any new classes during beta since they are going to need help balancing them. Here's to crossing my fingers for musketeer
