Please stop showing boring videos

So to understand you correctly, you want a closed channel in lodestone that requires username and password to see alpha videos. Or no videos at all? Do you think those videos would stay unavailable to the public?
Then we would have threads all over the forum asking for videos.

That is not what unlisted means, Unlisted in youtube means the video can only be viewed if you have the url. So yes public won't be able to view unless someone link them to url, however nothing will change for lodestone viewer because the youtube video will shows just as it is.

This way, as a current player can still view the videos, judge, and whine the hell out of it and nothing will be of loss because lets be honest here, we are all here because we will be playing ARR.

However, IMHO these videos serves as terrible video if for the game, because it's boring just the same as any other MMO for people that never touched v1.0 of FFXIV.

The videos are meant to show improvment from 1.0, not bring in thousands of new fans. They are a tool, not a marketing device. If they were a marketing device you would see them on IGN and large video game websites with pomp and flare as well as on PSN. They seem more for people that are looking for them like veteran players and less for people that know nothing about ARR.

Again.. its alpha, testing to see how far the servers can be pushed before they blow up, or worse end up like the end of an era event. That's why it has little content, they're not testing that yet, it really is as simple as that...

Also I'm sure the majority of the people that have followed the development of the game would be impressed by how good things seem to work for an alpha test, and that they've stated drastic changes for the battle system which is the main focus of complaints....

Again.. which is why i suggest it wasnt shown to the public hence the unlisted videos. We people that has been following the development will be viewing it just fine. But it will take alittle bit of work for general public if they want to see videos that is still underdevelopment process.

To be fair, the type of person who doesn't have the two brain cells required to come to the realization that Alpha is not a final product and not properly indicative of the final product is probably the type of person I don't want to play with anyways.

well they release SHORT small videos every week. i think their intention is to increase the "hype" from video clip to video clip.

first we only saw sightseeing videos... now they show how the stereotypes of quests and combat system is going to work... what they are going to show next?
well i think they are going to show next.. maybe group battles, an instance or one of the public live events.


these clips are just small pieces of a total. in the end i think they will release a complete trailer again, when beta starts to increase the interest for players to participate in CBT / Open Beta. i am very sure! Yoshi P. knows how the MMORPG market works.

first they show the basics, and then they want to surprise the gamer base to show all together in a total.
