Look at the message I was replying to. The poster was suggesting that hardcores should get better gear than casuals. This is a suggestion implying that casuals should not have access to the "finest" gear in XIV.
That is inappropriate, and that is the type of hardcore mentality I so very much despise, because they are only thinking for themselves, and not about the big picture. Which so happens to include casual players.
I read and understand the original post. And you replied stating that they should not get better gear, they should get it sooner. Based on your OP, it looks like they did get the gear sooner than you. You are able to obtain that same gear. They were just able to do it faster than you.
What would hardcore players do if they could acquire things 4-5-6 times faster as you? Play for a year while you play for 4-5-6? They'd have nothing else to do if not work towards something better than takes more hours in the day or more days a week.
I wouldn't show up to my job for 3 hours a day expecting to get the same payment as an 8 hour employee, because I "don't have time" to work.
I only had a few hours of time yesterday to budget for FFXIV. And all of it was burned on the Kokoroon NM. Granted, I missed out because it was a new NM, and that everybody was camping for it, but that doesn't make the stress, frustration, and aggravation go away.I read and understand the original post. I play FFXIV to have fun, not to compete with people who talk smack and heckle other parties camping the NM. That was just unnecessary stress...
There are 19 -other- NMs. There are other jobs you can rank, new side quests with story lore, crafting, gathering, etc. No one, forced you to endure any stress other than your own stubborn self.I only had a few hours of time yesterday to budget for FFXIV. What you have described is the general mentality of MMOs. This will not go away. Ever. So, either learn to cope with these kinda people, or don't play this kind of game. It is unavoidable.
Wow you guy's are still going at this ? This reminds me of the old Wow forums, and their debates of casual vs hardcore.
Honestly real hardcore players, dont care what a casual wears, because real hardcore players, are busy doing content, not bitching on a forum "Omg me and my guild of hardcore no lifers, killed X mob a week ago, how can this newbs, scrubs, with jobs, be able to even be in the same zone as us" Really if you care so much about what other people obtain in a video game, then you need help, you are mental, and you are trying to compensate something missing in your RL with a video game life, period.
Aistaraina, did you even read SilverTearRen's response to you?
Lol? If you think you would be the only person out there camping the NM on opening night in NA prime time.. then maybe this game is too 'hardcore' for you. (And it's not, WoW was harder than this) :P Silver, c'mon.. The NM pops every couple minutes. If you're not getting claims you should set up a targeting macro or something of that sort. This system is basically the complete opposite of FFXI. There aren't any placeholders, no massive waiting times. This is in no way hardcore content at all. This game is designed for people like you who don't have much time to play. You might not get everything you want right away like some of the more 'hardcore' players would, but that's the case in every MMORPG. That's how it should be, if you want to put forth the time and effort than you should be rewarded for doing so. Like I said last night, if you just wait a day or two everyone who would have wanted it will have attained the drops. Then you can go kill your NM over and over again until you are satisfied. In short time, these NM's are just going to be wandering around not being attacked until PS3 release. 8)I only had a few hours of time yesterday to budget for FFXIV.
