Honestly it's not really needed at all (or so I thought) since they said it will have no real purpose and is there simply for the aesthetic and novelty of being able to jump.
I don't see any novelty in it, not even for a FF. We could discuss it to death, but jumping is here to stay, so it's kinda useless.

I wasn't being argumentative. I have no problems with jumping and actually look forward to the added feature. I was just commenting that they said they weren't adding jump for any practical purposes, therefore it's a novelty and there is no "jumping where needed"
I misunderstood you then.
By "jumping where needed" I was referring to jumping over obstacles to make a shortcut (=useful/needed) instead of repeatedly jumping on a flat surface (=useless/annoying)
