Oh well, my thread has been deleted without any clarification. SE FTW!

I think it's kind of funny that the people complaining in this thread do not understand that Alpha/Beta test applications are reviewed like Job applications. None of the people Whining/Screaming/Crying about how they didn't get in will ever get in because of their behavior on these threads.
The hardworking QA Team over at SE does not want to work with a bunch of Whiny Selfish Arrogant Babies.
Anyone know if they threw out peoples app if they had family members in the same house apply? IE brothers/sisters, husbands/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend. Given that you would have the same IP they could be like this is the same guy trying to apply more then once. Cause I know a lot of people who lived together and didn't get in and they all apply.
I don't think I saw a 1 entry per household. But that would suck if it is true.
The thing is that will be a flag on my account, not the database which is remaining intact until after beta (I would imagine) however the application could go in, then when they run the selection script, that checks whether the account is active or inactive, rather than when the application is submitted. That kind of form actually compares your application with the data on your account automatically. It's not just a fire and forget e mail form that you can just send whatever the conditions. When the application was opened several people complained that they weren't able to apply because their account was inactive.
To verify, you can try applying to the beta right now yourself. The system will immediately tell you that you're unable to apply because your account is already applied.
Perhaps they have yet to get to those other threads. At any rate, my point was that multiple threads on the same subject don't really need to exist, whether they're exact clones or not. And I really have no reason to divert from anything, so that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. lol
Please, let's not insult each other's intelligence. It's not very becoming. Not only that thread was not a duplicate of any other, as it involved a very specific issue. There are still multiple threads on the generic "Baaaaah! Why didn't I get accepted!?!" topic, and none of them has been touched.
Quite obviously duplication or redundance aren't the issue here. Trying to divert attention towards that issue is a tad disingenuous.
Lol

If they wanted to throw opinions on why they left, they had plenty previous chances. That's not what an alpha test is about.
It's obviously rather illogical to allow in people that manifested a lesser interest in the game, over people that stuck with it, and are prone to test the alpha much more throughly.
The main problem with alpha and beta test is the percentage of randoms that get in just out of boredom, like it was a quick demo, and then quit without providing a single piece of feedback. It's quite obvious that current subscribers are much less prone to behave like that.
Ultimately, though, a rule was in place, and that rule should have been enforced. I know quite a lot of people that purposely resubscribed in order to have a chance at the alpha due to that rule, and I can't blame them if they feel tricked.
Yep, Obviously it takes them more than an hour to get to threads right at the top of the page. Please...Perhaps they have yet to get to those other threads. And again, you're ignoring the fact that that thread was not on the same issue.
More than likely, the App selection process went like this:
Q1 - A + C = through
Q2 - B + D = through
Q3 - A + D = through
All the way through the final question.
Then, the whittled down number of applicants are reviewed based on Age, Experience, Location and PC Specs
Finally, the QA Public Testing Lead will review the Remaining Applicants eliminating people based on the way they Post, The way they Play, and their Reputation. People who have Alpha Tested for SE before will certainly have priority. People who were obnoxious in the first Alpha will be immediately excluded.
Alpha Testers are not random people thrown at a game. They are selected in a way that will maximize the effectiveness of the Desired Tests.
here I was thinking Alpha testing was like Jury Duty o.o/
"Thy life is a river to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"
I can tell you that people who have alpha tested for SE before will not have priority because I was part of alpha 1 for FFXIV 1.0, so by that logic I would have been high priority for it.More than likely, the App selection process went like this:
