Also, deletion of a whole large thread over an issue of duplication is not considered kosher in any forum handled seriously, which is why it looks very suspicious here.

Not to mention that the thread that was deleted was not a duplicate of any of the current threads. In fact it was started before, and had way more responses than any of the other threads remotely related to it with the exception of this one. I'm pretty sure they didn't delete the 2nd largest thread due to a 'duplication' issue and just leave the remaining small threads laying around.. Hard to say why it was deleted though, most of the time we'd just get a lock with a short spiel about what went horribly wrong lol.. This time they chose a different route.. just got rid of the whole thing and acted like it was never there. Heck, I even think my post count went back down lol! /shrug

Climbing mirrors again I see. That's the evidence that such a rule exists, not that it hasn't been broken. The allegations state that the rule has been broken, not that it was never mentioned to begin with.

SE has nothing to lose and everything to gain by officially refuting the allegations, if they are false, that is.

If there was a problem with the system they would have picked it up instantly, people here just think because people are posting about not getting in then most actives didn't get in over inactives.

People are believing the a friend of a friend of a friends friend told me that they got in without an active account, with no evidence at all.

The last player's poll showed that the majority of the community does not post here, what if they got in, or does posting actively on these forums give us entitlement to alpha?

Personally, I will test if I'm called to, but I happen to be more fine with not getting selected because I'd like to not be sick of the game by the time it's launched.

Only reason I applied was so that if I was selected they at least had one person who was testing rather than treating it like it was a demo. Which is most likely the majority of the whiners who didn't get selected.

I would be okay with the Alpha, but I would be ready with the Beta. And everyone, even if someone does get accepted to the Alpha, you CANNOT play until the 28th (Wednesday). That's when it opens.

As a test I am going to get my friend who only played for 2 days didn't even make it to level 10 as I recall before quitting to sign up for the Alpha to see if he gets in the next phase. He probably give me the account if he got in.

To help weigh on the clarification of "Active account".

My girlfriends account was disabled from the first step and when attempting to apply for alpha it would not allow this to be done until we logged into her account and enabled it (nothing to do with Characters or payment options, It was purely "Disable or enable FFXIV on this account").

Also for those frustrated, I understand It can feel a little insulting but what Harm is there with those that quit back in 2010 coming back with the chance to throw some opinions on why they left, as it may assist in development for the now.

If they wanted to throw opinions on why they left, they had plenty previous chances. That's not what an alpha test is about.

It's obviously rather illogical to allow in people that manifested a lesser interest in the game, over people that stuck with it, and are prone to test the alpha much more throughly.

The main problem with alpha and beta test is the percentage of randoms that get in just out of boredom, like it was a quick demo, and then quit without providing a single piece of feedback. It's quite obvious that current subscribers are much less prone to behave like that.

Ultimately, though, a rule was in place, and that rule should have been enforced. I know quite a lot of people that purposely resubscribed in order to have a chance at the alpha due to that rule, and I can't blame them if they feel tricked.

Perhaps they have yet to get to those other threads. At any rate, my point was that multiple threads on the same subject don't really need to exist, whether they're exact clones or not. And I really have no reason to divert from anything, so that made absolutely no sense whatsoever. lol

it was more then likely split by computer specs/ time available/ region/ and info in the application about interest. point and case me and wife been on the game since alpha/beta/CE launch and we both got in been playing the game ever since it came out and will continue but we also have plenty of time to test, high spec machines, and not a lot of playings in our region.

I can understand long time players feeling frustrated and irritated as i myself would be if i didn't get in, but complaining doesn't make anything change, the game will grow, the game will improve, the game will launch, the game will be played by those that play it and hated by those that hate it, just as all those reading this have now lost The Game :P (couldn't resist haha)

besides Q.Q'ing isn't gonna help they already said they will not answer questions related to application selection process. shit it could of just been random and the majority(inactives) where just that the majority of the app's lol. don't complain about it just continue to follow the info and watch the videos that are being leaked from hundreds of JP players almost daily and give feedback based on that lol >.> a.k.a be more useful and less like Rokien Vinland lol :P (a.k.a the most useless forum member/troll in xiv history ever)
