2.6 Alpha Tester’s Confidentiality Obligations “Confidential Information” shall mean (a) any and all information relating to or contained in the Products, Software, Documentation, or other materials supplied to Alpha Tester by Company in connection with the Alpha Testing, including, without limitation, information relating to the performance, conditions, capabilities, and contents of the Products and Software, methods of reporting and conducting, modification schedule, modification process and its progress in the Alpha Testing, AND RECIPIENT’S FEEDBACK, OPINIONS, SUGGESTIONS, AND COMMENTS (POSITIVE AND/OR NEGATIVE) REGARDING THE PRODUCT AND THE SOFTWARE, (b) the existence and the terms of this Agreement, (c) the Square Enix ID and password used by Alpha Tester, or by any other Alpha Tester, (d) THE IDENTITY OF ALPHA TESTER AND THE FACT THAT ALPHA TESTER IS PARTICIPATING IN THE ALPHA TEST, and (e) any and all information relating to the future or proposed products, services, or business operations of Company. Confidential Information includes, without limitation, all such information disclosed to Alpha Tester prior to the execution of this Agreement. Alpha Tester acknowledges and agrees that the Confidential Information constitutes valuable trade secrets of Company and (subject to the other terms of this Section 2.6) agrees to keep Confidential all Confidential Information, and only use Confidential Information in connection with Alpha Tester’s participation in the Alpha Test.

Yeah thanks, that was most of it, I was trying to see how they used the term "confidential information" but I can see the general gist from that. It's enough to scare most people from even mentioning whether or not they received an invitation, however it does not violate the NDA according to that. Can't blame other people for not wanting to 'risk' it I guess, but in the event I ever get an invite, I'll come let you guys know and be that 'guinea pig' for ya.

P.S. Yo SE you could put it all to rest now and send me an invite .. I come back and post that I got invite.. you do what u do (ignore it cuz it don't violate NDA or ban the hella outta me for violating some part of the NDA that's been overlooked!). I can then post the result of said experiment on one of my alts! LOL It's perfect SE, just trust me on this.

I can't say for certain, since it will not let me into the application page anymore for whatever reason, but I believe we signed the NDA when we applied. Meaning receiving the acceptance letter is after the signing of the NDA.

No, that's in the email. It directs you to their forums and to the tester acceptance page where you review all that stuff. I'm not sure I'd be allowed to copy/pasta the invitation email (it aint even my invitation...) but yea, it's in there.

Quit playing yourself.. its the same game... we supported version 1.0 knowing full well 2.0 was on the horizon for about the past 2 years.. that was the whole point..I guess you just got here (and if that's the case, shouldn't you be downloading the ARR client rite now.. LOL) ...?

I never mentioned any entitlement.. I simply stated the fact that they continue to do a horrible job showing appreciation.. Legacy would be nice if it meant sumthing, but clearly that doesn't even give people early access to the alpha of a game they been playing for the past 2 years.. I get that your satisfied, and that's fine, to each his own.

SE is marketting ARR as a separate game. Thus, as far as operations for alpha and beta and such go, they are different games with no connections between them. Some people eagerly await ARR as well, but they absolutely loathed 1.0. Are you saying that the sign of their 'dedication' is to support a game they hate and loathe, all so they can have a chance for getting early entry into an alpha that tests a series of systems with no attachment to the original game?

For NDA purposes, I'm refusing to comment on the 'downloading alpha client' statement, but I have played pretty much from launch all the way to server shut-down. Nor have I been wasting that time in-game with frivolous activities.

Alpha testing invites should be given no bias - everyone who applied for alpha and met the application's requirements should have equal chances of getting in. The amount of time, the number of relics and quint melds you have should never influence an event which is not even related in the slightest. You are here to TEST alpha, not play it. Testing mechanics and systems entirely different from original XIV, so your experiences will do naught save be as comparison. And in such a testing, acquiring testers with no knowledge of XIV's systems to base it off their OWN expectations, rather than a comparison, is equally as vital, as far as I'm concerned.

No, aside from the entitlement factor, I see no reason as to why current players should have priority to test a game who's systems are entirely different from the original. You may not be satisfied, but there is a limit to what can be constituted as an 'appreciation' reward before it becomes an 'biased' selection. We are getting that in beta, so hold it in.

I can tell that you mean well by the tone of your post, but I stopped here. I couldn't get past this first paragraph because I fundamentally disagree with everything you've said here. They are not marketing them as different games, it has been marketed that ARR 2.0 is the remake of 1.0 since the beginning. If they were marketed as different games we'd still be having a 1.0 to play in the future, but we are not. 1.0 is being(has been) scrapped in place of 2.0, period.

No connections between them??.. Come on, you can't be serious. They are literally porting the character data over from one, to the other. Zones, NPCS, items, etc are all coming directly from the 1.0 client. That, I would think, should be abundantly obvious. Again, I get that you meant well, I'ma just have to disagree.
