Possible idea for future new Race...?

Poaching races from Ivalice is not going to cut it. Inventing a completely new race is the best option, the only sensible option.

They already copied the entire spread of playable races from XI over wholesale, made minor changes, and gave them new names.

They have copied an entire beastiary of mobs over from XI and other games wholesale - using the exact same look/design, just with more detail - and brought them in.

Magitech is from another game in the series.

Materia is from another game in the series.


Crystal Tower.

Golden Bazaar.

And so on...

Yoshi-P has already stated that XIV is going to be bringing elements from other games over, and it already has been from the start. So, concern about bringing things from another game seems rather moot at this point.

Besides, as Elexia pointed out in the other thread, only people who've "visited Ivalice" will recognize them.

I'm okay with them coming up with something entirely new. I just like the idea of having a race similar to them, even if not exactly them.
