They had hidden files for gay sex/relationship within a few of the games for the non gay sex games. Mass Effect 3 has it out right and visible however.

This is what i have said from the beginning. In the end they will have to decide which one (if either) will loose them more subscribers. I am not convinced that there is enough people who would actually LEAVE the game if it was not implemented. They are going to have to do a far-reaching comprehensive poll to decide this. If there is anything to the advantage of those to actually want it, it is that most people (myself included) who don't support it in real life couldnt care less if it is in a game so they naturally vote to put it in.
I don't know what you mean by "non-gay sex games". However, the Mass Effect AND Dragon Age games definately pioneered the controversy. I think, however, they did it for the media exposure less than the acceptance. It certainly got the game all over the media for it. In the end, that is what makes adding the content a good decision.
People need to stop approaching this from an impassioned personal stance and start seeing how you can logically justify the introduction of the feature on a cross-society, cross-ideology platform. If you can find the solution there, then you will have won the argument without having to justify it based on opinion alone.
I really hope they do allow same sex marriages. In ffxi and other mmo I have played nearly all of the marriages I went to were same sex and had to be done outside of the official one because the game did not allow it lol.
How does this sound? The introduction of a feature that binds two players in a way that is not explicitly romantic, is not called marriage and simply does not restrict player participation based on gender. I can't think of a reason to oppose a feature that isn't called marriage based on character genders.People need to stop approaching this from an impassioned personal stance and start seeing how you can logically justify the introduction of the feature on a cross-society, cross-ideology platform. Edit: I mean the Valentione's Day event was more controversial than that because it was explicitly romantic. However no one made a big deal because it wasn't taking a stance on same sex anything. It simply didn't restrict player participation.
That's pretty much the solution that we have come back around to a few times. I think that is definately the best approach. How does this sound? Are you against the housing and chocobo systems too? Because building houses and raising steeds is also something you could just go out and do in real life. Honestly, this isn't something you're going to be forced to participate in. I don't see why it matters so much to you that it be taken out.lol Marriage through a game is retarded if you are forever alone go out and date someone doesn't matter your preference, but to get so defensive and hissy fit at the slightest opposition of something so banal added to a game as weddings is ridiculous. If SE feels generous enough to add this i hope they do it at least 5 years from now after they have implemented REAL FUN stuff to do in the game
FFXIV: ARR is not the first nor will be the last to include this in a video game. They don't make it an issue for other games so why would ARR be a special case?
Also, yes I know you meant right wing individuals. I'm simply identifying with the "values" that people might have for marriage and I'm saying it doesn't bother me one bit to have it be in a game.
2 females can compete to be the "most romantic couple" in the 2012 valentione's day celebration. Condoning the romantic aspect of a gay couple has not been an issue at all from what I can tell. Its just the name. Marriage. If it exists, the question of whether it is MF or MM or FF or all 3 is the OP issue. Based on the votes so far, the odds are 4:1 supporting SSM.
If you want to rename it universally, and anyone regardless of race or gender can participate, that is an option I will not argue. What I do argue is whether "soul couple" or "spirit link" or whatever you call it in the end will be considered the equivalent of marriage, and if it is, what is the point of renaming it?
I support SSM, ingame or out.

In all seriousness this sounds like a desperate cry to be accepted ,you don't need to get married to prove something . If i was you i would worry about this stuff in RL first before demanding a fake version of it in a MMO
