No, i didnt see it, and it looks i'm not the only one. (Maybe your text explanation is better than SE one!)
Well, i'll look better at V2!

Purchaseable at the lowest possible GC rank (Recruit/Private):
Company-Issue Tonic: 250 gc seals, guaranteed raise on whomever you use it.
Company issue Expectorant: 15 seals, chance of raise on whomever you use it.
If everyone carries both, the party is no longer limited to a presence of mind double raise in a crucial fight that nearly wipes. The potential to recover and win is much, much higher.
Honestly Im amazed so many people dont bother. It makes practicing tougher fights, especially in speed runs, way more viable, for when the party is not yet decked out in gear to proceed quickly and without deaths. Even then, I know several decked-out parties who still do it "just in case".
You definitely can cure yourself while auto-attacking. When you hit the spell it activates a sub-target cursor which you use to target yourself. Items either do the same or are automatically used on yourself.Offline FF games depend a LOT on potions you healed yourself and your party with them ...i found it odd that i couldn't do it in FFXI when i started playing it lol SE needs to give them more importance with no cooldowns.
Also i hate in FF14 how you can't cure yourself if you are locked on a mob for the auto-attack to work ...wtf is that?
Unless the sub target feature is disabled in your config menu. It was for me.
Seems to me you're concerned about being a BLM, then.As a BLM, I feel my biggest concerns were not being able to raise party members, or running out of MP and becoming useless. If the WHM went down, I'd be dead in the water with no way to cure myself or use my magic. Having a few more options available in battle through the use of items would make the game play a bit more dynamic, in my opinion.
That's like saying a WHM biggest concern is not being able to do enough damage... or running out of MP and becoming useless, too. If you are a BLM you MUST have those limitations, otherwise what's the point of jobs?
Imo, items are ok with a timer. You can have one phoenix down (with wahatever name), for an emergency, but that's it, for emergencies, and the same with potions/ether/whatever. It sure shouldn't become a game of how fast you can press the use potion button, and how many you carried around.
