Grand Companies

What's wrong with speculation? They gave us hardly any information on how they work. We're not allowed to discuss and have hopes and dreams?

I am in no position to tell you not to discuss or have hopes and dreams. I am discussing as well, but some of the people are really getting carried away. This will result in them being disappointed once again when the patch hits and that will result in more negative topics on the forums. Which is not a good thing for the game or the community.

My post was not aimed at anyone directly, but in general. I would love to see chocobos in the patch. I would jump of joy if we can breed or train them or even start crafting some armor for them, but I do not think it will happen. Some people here are expecting way too much, while the patch notes and Yoshi both already confirmed that 1.17 was to prepare for the Grand Companies. If you read some posts above they act like the whole thing will get implemented right away.

Again, I am not saying to not discuss. I am just warning that some of you will get disappointed and start crying again when they see the content of 1.17 is not what they expected it to be. I seriously hope I am wrong and patch 1.17 is way more than what I expect.

Grand Companies are something that they've been talking about for ages. They said a long time ago they had something better planned for Chocobos. Maybe they were just waiting until now to introduce them because they fit right in with how the Grand Company system works?

Don't gotta recap me(thx though), i'm from Alpha, but i'm sure they intentionally hold off on a few systems because of timing & balance.

For instance, there are probably things they could be adding(ex: auto-attack), but they need to lay the groundwork for the bigger changes first.

Was really excited the fabled load stone companies paged materialized. clicked onto it read every thing there was to read. wait where's the next button. wheres the actual info about the company system?

am i the only one a bit tweaked that after all this time, the hinting, the teasing that we still know absolutely nothing about how the grand companies work and function even with the "Tell all" page up and the first vestiges of it primed to go live in game. I call shenanigans Shenanigans i tell you

Guys, don't get carried away so much ....

You are making up stuff without any reason and then get disappointed when the patch hits. It wouldn't be too bad, but lots of people will start whining at Square Enix again when their made up things are not implemented.

Also, what else do you expect us to do? They released a page with literally NO information on how Companies work. They gave a nice picture though that REALLY emphasized the use of chocobos in an army however. I think that's reason enough to believe they're going to be used that way, sometime soon. Waiting this long to announce them like this makes sense too if they're directly involved in GCs..

Calm down, lol. It's not like they are telling everyone else but you. =p They are releasing the information a little at a time. Can't we be happy about any information at all?

Raubahn Aldynn looks badass, look at him with his eyepatch and huge 80's shoulder pad. I really hope you can get to join all 3, I would speculate this would be possible since the companies themselves are not warring between each other.

Kind of annoyed by that too. After all this teasing, the page is finally live and there's STILL no information on how they work. I'm a LOT less annoyed today however, because quest content for Companies is going live today. I feel like there's going to be something good.

This is exactly what I mean. They said that they will release more information about the Grand Companies just before patch 1.17 hits. That is exactly what they did. They never said they would exactly tell you how the whole Grand Company system was going to work. That was made up by you and other players .... Yes I was a bit disappointed too when I saw that there was almost no information, but I didn't expect the new page to explain everything anyway.

You guys expect too much while by now everyone should seriously understand how Square Enix works.

The whole negative attitude towards Final Fantasy XIV and Square Enix is because the expectations are insanely high ... it is not fair, since Square Enix can never live up to those expectations in such a short time.
