Don't get your hopes too high. =) They've had chocobos in storyline and in game but we don't have them yet still. It would be nice but considering all they've been working on, I can't say chocobos are probably ready yet. But, I wouldn't mind being proven wrong.

I really doubt they would have put so much emphasis on the chocobos in that picture if they weren't being used for war. Tanaka even said a long time ago they had something better than just transportation planned for them.

They might not be ready yet, but I'm definitely excited for when they do show up. They did say there would be more and more features added to Grand Companies over time. If not today, something to look forward to in patch 1.17a or beyond.

You are making up stuff without any reason and then get disappointed when the patch hits. It wouldn't be too bad, but lots of people will start whining at Square Enix again when their made up things are not implemented.

Give it a few more hours. We will know more soon enough. I am looking forward to it, but already talking about riding or even training chocobos is a bit too much I think. I will be more than happy if I am proven wrong, just giving a heads up to avoid disappointment and more whines towards Square Enix and the dev team.

I somewhat agree, I still don't think we'll see chocobos for players to ride until ishgard is ever opened up. Other than that though i'm still damned excited for this patch....of course it would be the day I won't be able to log on until late >.<.

Grand Companies are something that they've been talking about for ages. They said a long time ago they had something better planned for Chocobos. Maybe they were just waiting until now to introduce them because they fit right in with how the Grand Company system works?

Maybe the quests in 1.17 are introduction to how they work and preparation for battles etc that we'll need to train our war chocobos for.

Whatever they end up doing with them, I'm really excited for more news on how they work and completing the quests involved with the GCs in game later today.

I may have to relocate myself to Gridania. The lore there interests me the most, and the leader for that company is so pretty!

I have a feeling that the Ishgard city will be neutral like Jeuno was in XI
