Players would not to ask this stuff if they kept up with the scoop.http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post860597
Why would you not be able to use the new customization when you can recustomize? Why would they lock of selections to you? makes no sense.
This has been known for months now. They had it in interviews since about e3 2012 =) So hope that makes you happy!
Save the Earth. It's the only planet with video games.
it's not really cool to decrease the character limit for player names- if it means people with long names have to change them, i'll be upset.
Also the 9 new voices are the new voices recorded for each language pack. 3 new German, 3 new French and 3 new Japanese. I think it's cool that they are unique and don't replace each other and can be used across all language packs. It's a simple and very cool touch imho.
Like the new character creator way better... The title screen awesome better then the boring one we got know I also hope for more hairstyles, face feature's etc I'm hoping it already in the works for release since it alpha. Also even if they didn't would be nice to have a barber shop or whatever to change are look on the fly if so wanted to for a fee.
You know, part of me wants to agree with you because I've been trying to keep up with everything lately. However, that's just churlish. Not everyone spends a significant, or even small amount of time keeping up with FFXIV news. Most of us have a large number of interests and obligations that take up our time. Posting a question in a thread allows us to quickly follow it and get the answer.
That being said, I think the character creation video is excellent. It brought back that excitement you feel when getting a peek at something new you're eagerly anticipating. I like the new choices, I'm pleased with how quickly your choices load, I'm very pleased with the different backgrounds and movement options. As we're only seeing 2 race options, I'm fairly certain that the full release will have some additional choices available.
Also, even though it's been said before, thank you to the devs for posting this for us! Keep the teasers coming![]()
That is brilliant, well done.
I also liked that when selecting a class when you get a preview of the AF, it gives the player a very good idea of the type of class it's going to be and how baddass you can look. The different lighting settings is an awesome idea, other mmos should really follow suit and do that too as skin color and features can look different once you're out in the world.
I was really hoping to see new hairstyles though, I fervently hope you will add some come beta.

Shame there's no colour slider.
The small details look very nice, but the overall character seems limited still. The number of hairstyles, the number of faces. Things like that that make your character stand out from a crowd.
Still an improvement, but could be better.
And with more bigger breast sizes, lole.

Wow it looks awesome ! Very comftable to use and check all the characters option so you can be setisfied with your choice.
Big like for SE
I'm actually curious if we'll get a way to just "convert" our character into the ARR character creation and apply just some changes instead of starting from scratch, just to make sure that our looks are still working well with the new engine.
The new character creation looks great. A bit more option for hairstyles (including long ones please) and the "features" menu (scars, facial hair and so forth) would be welcome though. At the moment is, like in 1.0 a little underfeatured.
It may seem silly, but I would amplify the difference between the minimum setting and the maximum in both the "Build" and the breasts options. Maximum build seems still less muscular than the current hyur male in 1.0, and "very large" breasts arent exactly impressive. Giving players a wider range of choices is advisable.

I think they don't want to make long hair to not get flooded by "it clips with gear x!"-complaints. I don't think I saw decently animated long hair in a game before, hair actually flowing like it should (most i saw were either stiff models or were too light) and without clipping.
