Even if they're really short, can we please get a look at 1920x1080, texture detail highest, 8xAA? While everyone's qqing about the hair, I'm looking at the background and having flashbacks to Whitegate. /panic.

Aliasing at the floor line, and the saturation and luminosity are as flat as XI. If we lose the liquid look of 1.0 even if we max out the video settings, I'll be a bald lalafell.

If we have to wait to have the actual client to see it maxed out, so be it. But if we can get just 30 second clips of maxed out in game mpeg4 ideally not jammed through YouTube's compressors that would be nice.

No biggie if not. Certainly not as much of a crisis as the hair and the boobs.

AFAIK the alpha build is not being updated, that's why the lighting is still flat. The lighting was better in the post-alpha footage we saw in the last live letter and they stated they weren't finished with it yet (same for water).

Yeah, they did say some time ago that the will have a way to change the gender specific items.

As far as bewb size goes, I don't care one way or another, but I am with everyone else that I'm hoping for ample more hairstyles to choose from. And longer ones. Even if it means the hair goes up to avoid clipping under some circumstances.

Honestly though, I do wish once you've character created, you could go into somewhere later and update your look within reason. Sure short of plastic surgery you can't really change your nose. But hair cuts and dye jobs are normal things. So is getting a tan! I would give up bigger boobies for the chance for minor appearance change on a whim. C'mon if you can do it for Sims, we can pull it off for XIV. Right?

Like others have said, REALLY love/want the idea of changing hairstyles, getting tattoos, etc. Boob size? Meh.

Yes. By the looks of it, Final Fantasy XIV is shaping up to be a fine successor to Final Fantasy XI. Maybe I can finally lay XI to rest...some day.

Then again...Square Enix seems poised to run both side by side, since Seekers of Adoulin is slated for after 2.0 release

There will be a one time total character appearance reset if you so wish, within 6 months of 2.0 release. There will also be a barber shop, which does not cover things like face type, etc, that the one time chance to change does.
