Dude...did you see the video or not? obviously you didn't stop video at 3:46 that's mithra cat face right there lol some ppl seriously ....you can also make the eyes more cat likeIt's sad, these 'cat women' are simply that; human females with furry ears and tails.
We still haven't got the non-human female look of the Mithra, who while still being obviously 'humanoid' had a 'feeling' quite removed from humans with their more cat-like faces and overall appearance.
Like the new character creator. I like the new eyes. Its the first thing that struck me.
Wish list:
- A menu option to trigger the whole list of available emotes.
- A mode where we can walk the character around
- More facial features such as tatoos, markings and scars
- Longer hair length options (i know there is a limitation around gear, but i still want it
)
- Allow females to have a bit more muscles
- Allow character to target the camera source so the char looks at you (eye and head motion)*
* I first saw this in Blade & Soul. When moving the carema around the character, it would sometimes lock on the camera's origin and the eyes and head would follow it and stare at you. I couldnt find a pic/vid to show it. It shattered my 4th wall. It sounds very odd, but i assure you its a fantastic feeling. It could even be carried in the normal gameplay under very specific conditions of course.

As others have brought up, I think more hairstyles would be nice, even though I'm probably going to just stick with the one I have now. Otherwise, everything in the character creator looks great.
Can't wait for more of these videos to come out throughout the Alpha testing phase.
Nice vid! no lalafell love but still awesome! Keep em coming!!
what you say makes sense and I agree. The ps3 would not be able to handle that. My comment was directed at people assuming ugly characters and sliders go hand in hand. The system behind it is complicated, not the sliders themselves. Heck, just the number values behind the sliders would significantly increase the bandwidth load and processing needed when in cities etc, to mention one thing. APB had significant memory leak issues and other related stuff because of the amount of customization values you had to download and keep in your memory just by entering an instance. 64-bit setups became mandatory to even be able to play.
Sliders and more "advanced" customization options are nothing you add as an afterthought. Especially not if you aspire to release the game on a current gen console.
Seeing sliders happen in ffxiv is a pipe dream by now. That's why I at least want to see more options, especially hair.

I notice the player can freely rotate the camera/angle, it would be nice if there was a dynamic camera on/off button so the character creator would do fly-bys, rotations, etc, of its own accord.
Also it would be nice if the character could automatically walk a route around a zone or landmark while you are customising, just to get a feel of what its like in motion other than standing.
With 1.0 we started with 3 voices to choose from. Now we'll get to choose 12.

Legend tells of a legendary warrior whose kung fu skills were the stuff of legend. He was so deadly, in fact, that his enemies would go blind from over-exposure to pure awesomeness!
Wow, the new character creator is looking very nice!
I especially love:
- ability to preview in different lighting/settings
- ability to preview with different poses/gear
- camera controls
- more voice options, yaaay!
Disappointments:
- no additional hairstyles (but I'm thinking we may see a few in the release version)
- "build" for male characters doesn't actually change their size.It should be called "muscle definition", or something. "Build" implies, to me, characteristics of the body that relate to size and bulk, not merely a glorified skin texture.
At first, I was disappointed to see that the "very large" chest looks more like medium-large, and that you cannot actually change the size of male characters other than their height. However, if there is a good amount of variation between the races -- for example, people who want a female with a generously sized bosom can get that on a Highlander Hyur, and people that want a slimmer male can play a Miqo'te -- then I will give the character creator a thumbs up!
