They all had a very similar appearance in some way much like Iron Giants all had a similar appearance in some fashion..hell XI's Iron Giants were actually a bit more unique.

Which more or less is the typical design. So while it is an XI import, this is just one of the later iterations of the Adamantoise for now. The XIII ones were probably way too fucking big lol.

The FFXIV Iron Giant is definitely a fresh design - it's based on the iconic look, but with an Eorzean twist.

The Adamantoise is a sadly just the FFXI version - but with better textures and more geometry. (perhaps they did this to save time because they already had skinning and motion data, not to mention AI scripting that was all fully tested and could be reused)
