    If you want your rare items - I'll gladly take a HNM that spawns once a week and randomly attacks an area. Either there are some people close by who can man up and kill it, or everyone wipes...so sad. Lower the drop rate to 1% and by the end of a year we might have one or two of the item floating around the world. And if "hardcore" folks want something to do, you can spend your time hunting these.

    There are lots of ways to create rare items that don't involve sitting in a circle waiting on a pop. This might have been exciting when the functionality and capability at a dev teams control were more limited, but today it's just boring. You can have monsters that are not frequently found in the game, or that are hard to get to, and that have very low drop rates, or challenging conditions to spawn. Those are all at least interesting game mechanics. Your proposed solution is just boring gaming and not something that most of this community has an interest in dev cycles being wasted on.

    You can't flame a thing here. You're the brunt of the joke. Again, look around you. You are an endangered species, and it's for a reason.

    If Fafnir spawned during reasonable NA primetime every day, you and your merry band of harcores would never get the claim. You'd stay up to catch Europe spawn, but again. The Germans would roll you over easily as you've been up for 12 hours. You take a nap and try again for the JP spawn.

    Latency and all. Sucks for you!

    It's not the frequency of the spawn that you couldn't stand. It's that your competition at predictable times would render you impotent. You want a HNM with such stupid spawn mechanics that ideally you are the only one out there.

    It's because you can't compete with the rest of us that you even want HNMs designed the way you do. You make up for a lack of talent by staying up 5 more hours.

    No one said my way was the best, but to ignore it and bash people for saying it works doesn't make sense either. It does work, and it is NOT the only way to go about it. However, this does not mean it should not be in the game. Period.

    Not winning claim is better than having claim and wiping over and over again, which I'm sure is exactly what well see from you and your LS very soon (Thursday after 8 person capped parties).

    Brunt of the joke because you don't agree? You're the brunt of the joke because you're part of a fail species that can't do anything without 15 people.

    Limited? Really?

    You can't even claim a mob if the party leader is in another zone. That idea is fine but in the state the game is not a lot of changes would have to happen to even do that.

    "Standing in a circle" is easier to do. And it doesn't "bar anyone from content".

    It's funny how you don't understand when they do things to make these encounters easier (raise level cap, add better gear) there is now something else to do instead of that now.

    Example:

    NM X is camped because it gives the best gear

    Rank cap is increased, NM Y is introduced and it gives better gear.

    NM Y is hard based on the new rank cap and is now camped and no one cares who gets anything from NM X because it's now not the best.

    We claim NMs once.

    I started on PS2 release btw. 2004. But really. Back to topic.

    There is really no logically argument against 21-24 hour NMs other than players want to be as good as other without having to play as much. Rare gear is needed to have a game with content that will last.

    Umm? K? Do you think the level cap is going to go up every year or something? It was 75 in FFXI for what... 6 years? That is kind of the point of this. That gear is good for a long time.

    I'm just saying that if we wipe, you won't be getting the claim. When everyone who wants to fight fafnir knows when it's going to pop, and when it's going to pop is convenient for the enire region...son you're just common like the rest of us.

    Biggest mistake you ever made was thinking you were ever special enough for the game to dress you like you are.
