i actually liked the random xp gain system. after they removed it, you'd get comparable xp from a mob 5 levels over you and 1 5 levels below you. god forbid you have to actually do stuff to level other than oust and invite the warrior

Honestly that system would have been fine if it had been less random and more static in how actions gained you exp. The problem is, that alone would be a balancing nightmare

I do agree though, there needs to be a significant advantage to killing monsters of a higher level as far as exp goes

also meant that there's no leeching.

actually also liked the stamina system cos you can adjust your battle pace. only flaw was you would be too busy mashing buttons and couldn't really chat at the same time.

I like how they made the lalafell more soccer ball shaped.

i didnt get very far with the old xp system, so im not sure how sparse the xp got later on. but in the early levels i thought it was great. only problem i can see would be THMs not getting as much xp because they dont nuke as often as a mrd hits. but thats what balancing is for.

i noticed at launch that the mobs would kinda pace themselves with you. if you mashed buttons, they'd mash you back.

Yes, I much preferred the idea behind those features more, than how they were actually implimented.

It was nice as an Archer when you blasted something and got as much Exp as the whole rest of the party. At first AOE healing netted decent exp too. (bad bad)
It sucked for classes that took all the hits and dealt low damage (Gladiator)

Of course it could also be the other way around. But in the end the speed of getting exp would be the same. But since you can't directly compare the numbers then you can't really argue one or the other I think.
rested exp is still not the same as fatique.
with fatique you could have reached 0% exp
with rested exp the exp don't get lower than 100%

For this there was a good tactic.
Wait until your party members lost many HP (best wait until the red hp numbers) -> cast AoE heal -> earn many sp ^^
