1.0 and Tanaka had no future. Chicken without head - thats what happened.
I really didn't see anything big happen with the game before he got replaced.

What do you think Yoshi is gonna do? He sure as hell isnt any better than Tanaka. Yoshi dosent have the balls to make this game stand out he is too afraid of going that extra mile. Instead all Yoshi is doing is playing it safe, if Yoshi cant make this game stand out it will follow all the other MMO's that plain failed. At least tanaka had a vision and if he was given the time he needed XIV would have been something much better.

SE can't let a numbered FF game fail, that's why they're playing on the safe side and trying to make the game more up to modern standards. I have no doubt there will eventually be things totally unique to this game later on down the road. Right now they just have to actually get something running that more people will enjoy, which will in turn make the game profitable. Wada wouldn't stake re-creating a game if he didn't think it wouldn't end up turning a profit; that's what SE is in business for after all. What do you think Yoshi is gonna do? I think the mass exodus after the first month of the game proves no matter how much time Tanaka was given, this game was not going to succeed with his vision.

First it isnt the companies choice, regardless of what they think, its up to the player base, XIV maybe well be the 1st failed FF in its series. Reason is as Yoshi has done the CEO is making the same mistake by under-estimating the player base. That right there was the 1st mistake and may well be the last one they make in regards to XIV. Some players wont give it a 2nd chance and this is there last ditch effort and alot of players wont give it a 3rd chance. Its a wait and see attitude with 2.0. Word of mouth will have the biggest impact on 2.0 so Yoshi and the CEO better be damn well be ready if 2.0 isnt up to par.
I liked that button which turned AoE on and off.
I played FFXIV before it was cool.http://www.shadowflame-linkshell.de
just stopped reading here. its just ignorant and not true.
look at the thousand points that are implemented with 2.0. and have been what ff players were looking for.
now people come along and say tanaka did so much better? I'd say these are the people who enjoy the grind back then etc. pp.. its true that ARR will have much much more final fantasy feeling than XIV 1.0. and even FFXI ever had.
the ff online franchise till then lacked a lot of typical final fantasy stuff. a chocobo companion with a gambit system, limit break and stuff.. thats not WoW'ish to me.
bringing up the gameplay to modern mmORPGS does not make it a clone of something. FFXIV 1.0. was HORRIBLE to play, and had nothing to offer than grind. you forgot what the release version was about.
and you havent seen any of FFXIV 2.0. just the starter areas and the basics..
you cant just look at the basics and starter areas and say this is a wow clone, just because of the fact that it has quests now in it.. you are not open for the ff online franchise to change.
thats it. and nothin more. its not about standing in one place and grind one mob after an other for hours like in FF11..

It is completely true Yoshi and the CEO continue to under-estimate the players base. What Yoshi and the CEO are trying to do is make a fast buck nothing more nothing less. The fact is they dont care about you its about money so they are just giving players anything they ask for at this point. Its all smoke and mirrors but yet a majority of the players are blinded and belive otherwise. The current change is for the worst in the long run. I have said it before and Ill say it again under Yoshi's leadership I give XIV 1 year and thats it. The fact remains that the CEO of SE screwed up and Tanaka took the blame, because they didnt give Tanaka the tools or time to complete XIV. All in all they decided to bring in a lead that dosent even know much or play much of the companies own FF series, and thats plain stupid. This is my opinion I dont care if you agree or not, as you are entitled to your opinions so am I. Tanaka had a vision, if he would have been allowed to finish it, but Yoshi has no vision. With Yoshi its just fan-service and a chance to try and make a name for himself.

totally this right here, read my mind all the way. can try and deny it all you want, white knight it or whatever but this is the cold dead truth ...in my opinion lol. and for sure 1 year from now we will all look back and be like yep. and if they keep making mmo's like this ...they will keep failing. they can keep trying to give us less at launches, half broken games, they can keep trying to make them for casual or mainstream. you can call it new gen mmo's...just call it a failed game cause it's not a mmo no more and it will not succeed simple as that. can't wait to finally see a mmo that really truly succeeds again and what type it will be.It is completely true Yoshi and the CEO continue to under-estimate the players base. To add to what you were saying, the game can use industry/genre standards as a start and branch out from there. Just because they're bringing things up to speed with the rest of the genre doesn't mean they won't take it past that down the road.
