The tank just has to step up, pretty much the only time they should be getting hit is if Darnus is spamming acoustics (rare).Do you guys recommend a 3 DRG setup over bringing a MNK for dispells?
It seems easier to burn through phase 2 80-60% using it, yet I can't seem to see how are you guys dealing with Plasma Acoustics with no monk and just a white mage...
I'm guessing it'd be pretty MP intensive to have the one healer dispel it every time.
I would love to give it a go but most of the people I play with have stopped for now >< (myself included, just wrapping up spearfishing)
Carraway is right, a bunch of us are 7/7 with the earring but just lack the motivation to play with nothing really left to do.
I think we could get close but not sure we could break the 10 minuet mark![]()
We prefer DRGs over MNKs for their single-target DPS against Nael. As the solo WHM in that fight, I use PoM Aerora whenever possible to rip the defense-up, then I Esuna the tank -- unless the tank is in danger, in which case I have to change my priorities or the tank has to use Invincible.Do you guys recommend a 3 DRG setup over bringing a MNK for dispells?

MP isn't really an issue, even if there are parts where I'm riding very low MP. For what we're doing, I actually need to start pushing my MP much harder and using more consumables.
Depends on which meteor phase and how well-geared your BLM/THM is. We've tried a ton of different things, but most groups are probably going to need to have a THM upstairs and ready at P1 65%, P1 15%, P2 40%, and P2 20%, with additional ranged DPS on the same island at P1 15% and on the opposite island at P2 40%.

In general, for those of you trying to get your first kill, I do recommend going with the setup we used for our first kill: PLD WHM WHM DRG DRG BRD THM THM. Excellent meteor coverage, backup WHM, etc., should allow a lot of room for error. However, if you're fully timing out with that setup, consider replacing the 2nd WHM with a MNK or DRG. A great deal of what goes on in this fight relies on the individual execution of your players, so there's no single perfect way to do it. When we've gone in specifically with the intent of getting other people their earrings, we've stuck with PLD WHM DRG DRG DRG BRD THM THM.

If your timing out odds are you are taking too many dynamo hits, or his buff is staying up too long.
Focus on either having your tank keep him in the middle (I know it's easier said then done) or get comfortable with having the mages constantly adjust. Ideally you can do a combination of both. One whm and a tank that can block his move with agies/divine veil should be all you need.
