Small Rant on Seal Rolls in Hamlet parties

The OP may have felt slighted, but it was due to envy not math.

The person who won and donated his seal to a friend could just as easily need the seal for himself - and lets face it, he did change his loot preference which I assume meant that he was sacrificing his chance at another drop to get the seal.

The OP voted 'yes' on the loot preference change which modified the odds. (I assume the OP understood this), so where the seal went after it was won, or whether or not the winner actually needed it is completely irrelevant.

In fact, the 'loot preference change' meant that somebody's odds to get another drop may have gone up by the same amount.

As others here have said: If this is a sticking point for you, have the ground rules set up ahead of time and don't change them midstream.

Well my skit really just reiterated the op's 2nd post in this thread. If they had let their intentions be known, he would have just left the party respectabally. They knew that, thats why they said nothing about it.

Technically it doesn't really even lower your chance, it just increases the other person's chance of getting seals.

If they dont need it they dont get a seal. If they get it for a friend they join the loot group, it does significantly lower your chances, no technically about it.

The guy who wasn't rolling for seals originally obviously joined the party purely to help his friend. If he won the roll on the seal, it's his to do as he pleases, whether that be to give it to a friend or not.

The loot rules is clear, you wished whatever you wants, whatever he does afterwards with the item whether dropping it to floor for giggles or passing it to an RMT is none of your business.

Whether or not he kept the seal or gave it to his friend you still weren't getting it. You didn't win the roll and he was using the loots rules set by the leader of your party to do whatever he wants with HIS seal. Get over it.

It was his seal, he could do with it as he pleased. If he had two people rolling for him, then he had two people participating in the party. There's nothing wrong with that.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with what that guy did. You agreed to let the seal be his roll of choice, he won the seal and since it belongs to him he can do whatever he wants with it.

ITT the OP can not get beyond the fact that once you win a lot you are free to do what you want with it.

That depends on your agreements on loot distribution. If there is no agreement made, it's assumed that a person can do whatever they want with the loot they win in a random.

Yeah - on a not previously agreed upon system for PUGs the base rule is "it is yours, even if you want to drop it".

I'm not 100% sure what happened for Wynn. But when I do hamlet I do not let item rot or bidding - which I tell everyone first so they aren't surprised (though I'm not against bidding in general I like when I'm leading a group for the Hamlet to be a quick in and out no silly questions going about - I leave that for other's parties :P).

It appears to me that they had a system to prevent item rot (do you need it, loot it), but did not cover friends changing things. When the friend asked to vote I think he should of said he will be changing the rates to his friend's favor.

I havent had time to read the entire thread, so i dont know if this has been pointed out.

But the person that won the seal wasnt just a random person that did no work, he spent 20 minutes of his life in that boring hell hole. he was entitled!
