It pains me (mentally) to do this and the drop rates are quite punishing. So I used it correctly. I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that people are enjoying the event when in the other thread on this topic at least 3/4 of the people posting are frustrated and fed up with this event. What was intended as a community event has turned into another grindy nightmare. I agree with you usually Elexia but this whole event is terribad.

There is nothing worse than devoting 3 hours of your time and turning up with absolutely nothing and being in the same position that you were when you started with 0 progress.

Yeah I did. At launch for over 3 years. Times were different. Saying that it is Final Fantasy tradition is woefully out of touch with good game design. I have accomplished a lot in this game but I harbour no ill will towards the developers if they make something more sensible for the community at large as it will help the game in the long run. The people who attack those who obtained something after it was made accessible are just being petty and trying to validate themselves.

If you're trying to build you're argument on tradition, take my advice. Quit while you're ahead.

I love how XI players believe that because they went through awful drop rate/RNG on XI, then no one has the right to complain about bad drop rate in XIV. The worse is, these players love to attack others by saying "Did you play XI?" while in fact many of us did.

It's not because it took me years to obtain certain items on XI that I want the same thing to happen on XIV. No more of this RNG ****.

XI was stupid in many aspects, like as you said, doing 3 hours of something and getting nothing out of it. (Hi2u DynaXar when 30 players worked for 0 AF while still killing all NMs and almost all trash.)

If I ever mention XI it is usually to draw attention to the fact that this is infinitely easier than said "headache". This is easier and it lasted 12 hrs today. If we pay attention to the signs we might be in for longer periods of it being up and therefor a much easier goal to obtain. Have I ever seen 20+ primal weapons drop in 5 days? No. This is an improvement either way in a system they are refusing to touch up in its current state for whatever reason.

We beat to death every new time sink that shows up in this game. I get it, you hate it, but I've already listened to the whining about it concerning many other things in this game that are much less accessible than these two useful/fashionable items. Three weeks left and still nothing but complaining/petitions. "Hmmmm no Halloween event is coming, let's see if we can force the developer's hand for something that means SOOOOOOO much."

As other people have stated it is already easier now than when it started due to more spawns for longer periods. For the record I still don't have the tricorn. You simply cannot just keep making things easier because people complain.

Seeing I spent sleepless days, if not weeks, trying to get my imperial tricorne and it'd make it less rare by making it easier to acquire... I'm gonna say no to this petition.

It already invades a lot more often than it did back when it started. Higher drop rates would be too much.

Of course the drop rate is poor. It's an MMORPG by SE. Working as intended.

If you don't like the drop rate why don't you go play FFXIII or something? A single player offline game might suit you all more. All of you. Or maybe go play World of Warcraft or something.

It "should" take time, so invest some time if you really want that hat.

There "should" be some work involved, but I do not believe it is overtly taxing considering the 4 hour time frame.

It's easy with 5 people though (in AF). Find the edge of leash point, PLD leash, 3 BLM nuke, 1 WHM behind them curing.

Please for the love of all that is holy do not make this any easier than it already is.
