If they make changes to the Market Wards, like:
    • Combining them (Not making three separate markets available from the same place)
    • Adding the inability to see which person has an item listed lowest vs. highest price.
    • Being able to specify searches for HQ and NQ.

However, the reason I believe 2.0 is going to fall short w/o a wipe, is because players do not want to do any low level content if they already have their classes leveled beyond that point. Even as it stands now, I see newer players being unable to complete quests and progress because no one wants to help them. When 2.0 launches, new players will join, but when they see that it's difficult to progress due to lack of community help and being few of the new players to only start the game at this point (potentially due to lack of proper marketing thus far); it's discouraging and frustrating, and that's why I believe they may just leave for other games.

I'm not saying 2.0 will be bad, I just don't think it will be as grand for newer players from the get go.

so, how did 1.0 get the community it has now?

Also, there is a fine line between being a troll and responding to one....

It got it's community now through everyone starting roughly around the same time O.o From the beginning, you know... like a new server. Well that and the people who stuck through the initial fail product.

I don't understand how it's so hard to comprehend what I'm stating and realize that it "Could" potentially cause 2.0 to not attract many new players.

1.0 had pretty much no advertizing. your argument about no community is pretty weak considering what you said about 1.0, even with so much fail at the start it still has a fairly strong community. the new servers will be set aside for new chr's only, i for one want to start a new chr to experience all the new content then when they open up transfers i will probably move my 1.0 chr over.

i'm not saying there arent fears of failure, i just think you defeated your own argument.

Most XIV folks were Current and ex XI players, then they all left and went back to XI/other MMOs when XIV flopped.

you guys act like uldah isnt full of people and all the wards constantly full. population is going up from people wanting a before and after of 1.0 and 2.0, and not to mention the fact that the game is just overall better than it was. people are making it seem like ffxiv flopped, and they never sold another copy..

In terms of MMOs losing the majority of your playerbase = Flopped. It started out with something like 700k people let alone sales the first month, then dropped down to an estimated 15-35k or even lower at this point?

i never said it didnt flop. but i cant be the only one that notices population is on the rise.

if there is any reason 2.0 will fail, it will be because its being turned into a wow clone. and so far, every wow clone has failed and gone free to plau

Ok, I never said there wasn't a "Strong community". I said there isn't a supportive community for new players. As for starting over again on a new server, you're also agreeing with my argument to an extent as to "Starting from scratch, to experience the new content" pretty much says you think there needs to be some form of a wipe >.> As for population, The servers were well populated for awhile, but Ul'Dah as of lately is alot more lonely. Also people can't even defeat Atomos at several points throughout the day due to lack of participation.

Also, if we're comparing to XI, it's almost the same deal, If a new player starts there now, good luck finding help up to lvl 30, unless you have friends that are willing to level sync, and expect to be spending levels 30-99 in Aby. Oh and about those expansions that came with your purchase, you can get through the first half of them, but good luck again trying to find help completing them fully.

WoW clone or not, unless something comes out of this that's simple, intuitive and enthralling, it will not meet gamer's expectations nor will it be a success. This is how I feel on 2.0

id say a huge reason why people arent very supportive of new players is because there are 3 weeks before the servers go down, and there are still things we want to do and there isnt enough time to be bringing people up to speed
