Another strong point for AF: It always has traits that are tailored to that job. For example, I have an explorer's tunic for my bard, but I still keep my body for brd, since it enhances my songs, something no other body piece does.

Like we did it in FFXI with some AF Gear, macro it in for your song and use a better body for the time you DD
It's balance in my opinion.
I only played blm and I'm pretty sure my stats is one of the best one out there.
My stats without food nor sanction
INT 401
MATT 568
MACC 450
Am I using all melded gear? no, 3/11 slots are melded, 3/11 slots are gc items, 5/11 slots are from drop/endgame content.
relic
Storm baliad
Storm belt
Storm ring
Mage earring
Mage choker
Mage ring
Mage Glove
triple meld INT IV felt hat+1 (+53int)
triple meld loresman IV colliseum loin (+22int +22mnd)
triple meld mahogany pattens+1 (+35mattack)
So whats the problem now?
I enjoyed playing endgame content but I would've quit long ago if everyone is gearing endgame content game with less flexibility of customization. And by the way, which endgame content now you think is so tough that should be the best gear out there? Let's put the difficulties now aside, the DL gear which needs luck in obtaining which proves to be near on par with good melded gear, relic which is on par or slightly better than triple melded weapon, the rest of the "endgame content" are easy stuff that can be spammed so many times a day that i lost count.
So I don't understand what "endgame content" at this current moment that people think that it's so "tough" that need to be better that the gil exhausting, frustrating melded gear...
What I'm trying to say is, there is a still a place for endgame gear together with melded gear.
As for melded gear, people can choose to do double meld instead of triple. (it's all about personnel aim)
I've broken alot to get there, I'm not a lucky person.
You can do it in one macro. Change the pieces depending on the gear you have / songs you're singing.
Code:/battlemode off /wait 1 /equip body "Choral Shirt" /wait 1 /action "Ballad of Magi" <me> /wait 6 /equip body "Darklight Corselet" /battlemode on
No doubt I agree with you. I think there's a good balance in the game as well. Maybe it's just me and my dumb opinion. But gear with stats in the 50s (like vit or int) just seems weird to see. Do I want it. Yes. haha. But I don't know, maybe for me it's just something to get used to.
alot of the issue you see is the fact that all of the numbers are so large. in other games if you got a piece of gear that has +3 of a stat you can see a huge difference, but in this game +3 means absolutely nothing because you are working with hundreds of points in a single stat.No doubt I agree with you. the biggest issue i see is the fact the base numbers are so large that you have to add retarded amounts of points to increase that actual damage done. say you get a piece of gear that adds +3 str, +2 dex, and +2 vit how much are you adding when your base stats are already near 300?
