Though if thats true, that would mean everyone would have issues when as we see on update day, that isn't the case. Just like using the regular internet, your specs still come into play for some aspects of it. If you have a shitty wireless adapter or ethernet card obviously you won't get the full benefit of it, for example if you have a wireless N network but rocking a wireless b/g card....yeah, that all falls into your PC specs.

It's just these days most people ignore the "network: minimum/recommended" part of PC game specs because it's not 1996 anymore and most people are generally up to date in that regard.

Many people in Europe still have outdated connections, e.g. ADSL, while other regions seem to be further ahead, having cable or fiber. Especially in Japan, asymmetric connections are uncommon. If you have cable or other symmetric connection, you won't have your upload slowing down your download anymore. The devs clearly didn't take asymmetric connections into account, else they'd give us an option to adjust our upload speed. Even if they were paranoid about people setting it to 0, there are still ways to limit your uploading sped automatically, by doing a speed test on startup and setting the upload to .8 of it.

As for having a b/g card, it's still 54mbps. My internet connection is only 3.4mbps, yet I can torrent just fine. The only reason I updated to a N card was to be able to pull stuff from my NAS faster.

@Starlord: That's what I said too. Why did you quote me? And yes, the rep post says "PC", not "connection".

Because, that was the topic I was talking about and just wanted to tell everyone who didn't know about it.
