Why would it be called something else? Its the same thing than on vii minus the spells. People bitch xiv doesn't have enough ff trade symbols, and when they give them to us they just go "oh no no, can't you think of something new?"

But Materia was just a FF7 thing, when people mean staples they mean things that have been spread across the entire series. Job names, ultimate weapons like Excalibur, etc.
