Originally, it was me replying to a troll that implied that there's only 4 or 5 of us. I'm not trying to prove that we're the majority or anything.Exactly since I am pretty sure there is more than ~200 players 200 out of 200,000 or so is 1% of the population also they are trying to go for the 1 million mark so 200 is a very small minority.
Again I am not saying animations are not needed. But you can't go around flouting that so many love or dislike this when you have a very very small pull of the player base to base your answers off of.
I know you really haven't but Rokien has attempted. Again I am all for a change but I don't count what we have seen as final lolol so I am more of on the fence I guess with this lolol. I am for the wait till I play it before I judge but also am all for this animation lol

Why would someone fight having better animation? Kinda a strange thing to debate...
Well, most of those who oppose it don't exactly argue against the animation itself, (unless they're wrongly assume the animation is causing the problems the server lag does) but the way we (and originally i) approach it, or the fact that they haven't played the game themselves to know what it feels like.

theres been a few people who have said that and i honestly cant understand how people are saying it.
animations is a visual thing, you can see it without playing it. how is playing gonna make a difference?
if you watch the latest build video and say this looks like crap, and then 5 minutes later you get to play the same thing you just saw, surprise surprise it still looks like crap lol

maybe because surprise surprise pre alpha and alpha build is suppose to look like crap? because you know its alpha. If it was perfect and looked amazing then they would have no reason to alpha or beta it and just release it.theres been a few people who have said that and i honestly cant understand how people are saying it.

Look, I didn't say anything and I gave it the "oh it's just in alpha" but when they said REMOVED, that just means, its not because of alpha, but why are you arguing with us and anyone else that is fighting us? YOU should want GREAT animations WITH great gameplay.

For what it's worth, I played GW2 in closed beta and I thought it looked like crap, but now I hear it looks pretty good for the graphics engine it's running on.
I'm sure they have a lot turned off in the pre-alpha footage, but I'm still skeptical since I think back on how badly the last beta went for this game.
Maybe because when I was messing with controls last night it looks very similiar to what we have right now, just some keys were changed. (camera wise) and also the appearance in the new video is definately a work in progress unless you deluded yourself to really think that running in place is what we will be getting as end animation and start animation. We also don't know what they have planned. we are just guessing off a visual that is not finished. I honestly spent an hour last night playing and went huh there is so much similiarity between how our characters move now and in ARR.
Rokien thank you for this you just proved the point so many of us have been trying to say and most have given up on. Because you all think we are "fighting you" when all we are doing is putting up our side of the discussion. Is that how you live your life? Anyone disagrees with you or has a slight difference in opinion, its a fight? not a discussion? Your stance on this makes this sickening. Just because I state that I believe the animation is unfinished and it will most likely be touched up a lot by the time we make it into testing or release, does not make me fighting you. It just means I am stating my opinion. I already stated yes anything that can make the game better is a plus. But we can't go running around like a chicken with its head cut off or anger or anything that we don't have a firm grasp on. Just because they said they got rid of that animation doesn't mean they don't have something better in mind. Now maybe we won't I am not that stupid to think some sacrifices need to be made to make a better game in the gameplay department. Also Animations can be improved upon and changed anytime in a games life cycle, game play can't. They changed animations and added new ones in a lot in 1.0 I am fully trusting they can do it again.
Now I honestly think they won't listen to this threads concern till after alpha or beta starts and people in it show genuine concern on how ARR plays and looks. They will listen to us on 1.0 concerns because we have played it handled it found the idiosyncrasies that make it click or not click. We can't do that from a video, because we are not a proper judge of character of the game because we haven't actually experienced it. Stop thinking just because we have been allowed 1.0 input that means we can harp on 2.0 already when we haven't even tried it.
Edit: nm wasn't a rant, can be viewed as one, but it was pretty balanced. lolol also hate some internet meme's and shouldn't have to point it out.

The thing is, that no matter how much they polish it, the basic mechanics of it will probably remain the same. This animation set is pretty much standard. It will still look like a polished version of what you see in the videos, since they confirmed the removal of the current animation set. I agree that things like characters running while they suppose to be standing (as observed in the live letter) is something that its there because its pre-alpha, and it will be fixed, but what we're talking about here are elements that they need to add, or change. Not polish or fix.
I say this taking into consideration 2 things. The confirmation, and the fact that according to Yoshida, we're supposed to be a few days away from alpha.
I'd like to announce that at the end of this month we'll be kicking off the first phases of our Alpha Test
