Well, i wouldn't go that far, but thanks for proving my point.

Graphics and animation are a factor. Even this thread is proof of this. How much of a factor? Well, that's subjective.
First off, why would such a situation ever actually exist? Why release one version of a game with shitty animations and then release the exact same game at the same time with better animations? That's like saying, well if they released two games and one of them had clunky gameplay and the other didn't but they both had the same graphics and animations, the one with the better gameplay would do better which means that gameplay is a factor.

To answer the question, yes the one with superior graphics would be considered better. It's a stupid question to begin with though. So yes, it is a factor. No one ever said it was never at all a factor in any way. It's simply not the sole factor, nothing is. Lack of smooth animations isn't going to make a good game bad. The inclusion of the most amazing animations in the world does not make a bad game good.

Is this a factor that greatly detracts from the game as a whole? Like you said it's subjective but I would say no. I personally don't think this thread needed to be 1000+ posts. It's not that big of an issue from where I'm standing. All of the other things they've fixed and improved far outweighs this in my opinion.

It's not even like every single animation in the game has seen a downgrade or removal. There's just a shorter stop when you stop running.
