Auction House vs Wards

Market Wards seem kinda fine but there are some major problems with it. Before I go into detail I think Tanaka wanted to dodge the fact that players will create extra characters just to stand around selling stuff, remember Ronberry Fields/Ballista Downs in FFXI. Players wanted to sell there stuff at high prices tax free and also add a discount. I do feel this is still important but we should be going back to AH format.
Searching +1's and Materia based armor is a problem since they are sold at much higher prices and harder to search. Also searching threw tons of menus for the right armor/material etc is a problem. Linking Market Ward zones under one should be added. Market Wards should have no Tax but can only sell 4-5 things at a time and only 1 retainer.

Some Improvements AH should have

Search Marketward- (Brings you to basic menu we have now)
Search Auch House- (Brings you to AH menu)

AH Menu-
Have a Base tax of 5%~7%

Weapons- Another select menu for each Job selection
Tools- Another select menu for each DoH/DoL
Armors- Select menu for Shields/Heavy/Light/Med/Strong
Materials- Select menu for Plants/Rocks/Metals etc.
Crystals- Crystals/Materia/Matter
Special- Beastcoins etc.
Meds- Potions etc.

Have 8 slots where you can sell items for free. Can have up to 16 slots max but will cost you 1000gil per slot after 8 to place items in.

Well.... I hate to burst your bubble but... Most of the hate for tanaka stems from shitty implimentation of BOTH the armory system and the market wards.

I'm now lost as to why you disagreeded with me earlier on in this thread as we seem to have the same issues with the game

It was the lack of content, and once they added content, people started to return to the game. There's still no AH, but yet you make posts on a forum that has no AH. What is your point again?

How about. Who cares? once Uldah isn't the main meeting place when Ishgard is released. No body will care about Uldah and it'll be spread out through other cities. Plus The new AH system will probably be combined through all Cites, I'm guessing the search function might even be. The games not even out yet, who's to say what's possible.

Yoshi already stated in an old interview that the market wards in 2.0 will be shared instead of segregated between cities.

He wanted to fix that in the current version too but couldn't due to server limitations. That's why he made all the wards available in all the cities as a temporary compromise.

If Uldah isn't there, then a next city would have simply become the next 'hotspot'. No durrr.

But that aside, people tend to complain because they care about something and want to be heard, they aren't simply being mindless drones and accepting everything being served to them. People want the game to succeed. If you have issues with people complaining or giving their opinions/suggestions then the forums really isn't a place for you.

How about a way to know when items have sold? - They plan on adding this.
How about a Salon to change character hairstyles? - What does this have to do with the market wards?
How about making in-game items linkable so ppl know wtf the item is? [item] drops omg whats the stats??? nbdy knows.. - They plan to do this.

Ishgard isn't coming out anytime soon. While players assumed that Ishgard was going to be the Jeuno of this game, at this point that is extremely unlikely to have been their intention.

Retainers will do more than just hold and sell things in 2.0. As far as what those will be has yet to be seen.
