    As someone who's been studding game, cinematic, and traditional animation for over 4 years now, I think I'm fairly well qualified to discuss it.

    As for why include it? Because it would make a difference to those of us who would want it. Like Shadows, Depth of Field, Physics, Ambient Occlusion, and to a different extent, things like Helmet, Weapon, and Meteor Mark toggle.

    I don't know why that would upset you. Square's done toggles for aesthetics before, and replacing the animations and allowing them to be canceled out of shouldn't be too much of an issue at all, unless they got a really bizarre structure going.

    And on the other hand I want to have proof/improvements(?). Show me video passages which prove your conclusion of the animations being a downgrade. I gave you one as well. because I can't even tell you for 100% that these animations are bad or good when I haven't played it yet. Rather than watching some bad quality vids.
    We came to the conclusion, because it was officially concluded by Square's staff. They're "focusing more on gameplay" Which strikes me as odd sense they where doing so many things for the aesthetics anyway. Like how jumping "Is only being added for those who want jumping", but at least for that they added more fences and cliffs. But more drastically (and perhaps more relevantly), things like new races.
