Keep crying. In the live letter i bet you seen characters running in place while turning. That should give you an hint how much current animations are unfinishedAfter seeing the latest build in the Live Producer Letter, it's looking even worse than it did in the gamescom footage. In the newest version you can see other people walking around more clearly and it looks more ridiculous than ever. Characters move straight along a curve and it looks visibly robotic. When they don't inertia stop and start it looks very jilted and cheap. The magic is gone.
well said
sooooo... settle for mediocrity? lol
>< That game looks so much cooler than ffxiv! lol
Okay. Let's assume for a second, that the characters wont run in place while turning or stationary. Let's assume that everything that really looks unfinished, will be fine tuned before the testing, leaving the core movement animation (and the controls that go with it) as is.
Do you think it'll look much better? Because i don't. I think this approach is fundamentally wrong, and objectively outdated.
this "core movement" is a meme dude, because isn't set in stone. Animations got changed a lot of time in THIS version. Why do you think they can't do it there ?Okay. A lot? Care to elaborate? Remember we're talking about basic movement animation.
The animation the characters had on the very first video of 1.0 pre-alpha, compared to what he have now, are not fundamentally different. They are basically the same, with a few tweaks.
"A few tweaks" can't save the 2.0 animation.
