It's a legitimate request that you own a legitimate copy for each platform.

really dbaggy move if this is the case
There's nothing "dbaggy" about it. The same thing was true of FFXI. The price you pay for the game at the store is for the software, not for the account. If you don't own the PS3 software, you can't play it on PS3.

That being said I can't imagine why you would want to play it on the PS3 if you have a PC.

You can just hook your PC up to the same TV, and use motionjoy or whatever it is to use a PS3 controller to play. Better graphics, no memory limitations or bullshit.

Will I be able to log into both the Windows and PlayStation 3 versions of the game with the my account?

Yes, you will be able to log into both the Windows and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. However, you will need to register the registration codes from both versions of the game.

So if you buy a PS3 copy, you can't play on the PC, You need to buy BOTH ><

If you're posting on these forums, you already own a PC copy. Hook it up to your TV, use a PS3 controller, and forget about the PS3 console.

whatever you say buddy you don't know the situtation i'm in nor does it seem like you want to understand so go on thinking what you want to think and we'll agree to disagree.
I totally know the situation you're in, unless you've failed to explain it correctly. "Agreeing to disagree" doesn't change facts:

    - You can use the same controller to play both the PC and PS3 versions of the game
    - You can play both of them on the same TV, in front of the same couch or chair or whatever you plan on sitting on.
    - Your game experience will be basically identical in either case. You might get PS3 trophies on the PS3 version. That's about the only thing working in the PS3's favor.

These are simple facts. Denying them and singing "LA LA LA LA I CANT HEAR YOU" doesn't change those facts.
There is no advantage or benefit of any kind to playing on the PS3 if you already own a PC copy. I can't see why this is so hard for you to understand. I'd love to understand your situation better, but I can't think of any situation where it would make any kind of difference whatsoever which platform you play on, outside of the game very likely performing much better on the PC and therefore being far superior.

I never said i owned a pc copy either I did say I was buying a copy of both where did I say I already had one. No you don't under stand it nor do you understand my reasonings I know what you're saying you going on about how the graphics will be better yet even though they've already stated that the graphics on the ps3 will be much the same as the pc version ah well it doesn't matter to you one bit secondly i've heard too many people complain about using that program to get their ps3 to work by the way don't you have to have it connected to the computer anyway to use it seeing as how the ps3 controller is bluetooth (can't really say since i don't want to use a program I get better connections with my wired controller connected to my pc anyway so no we'll agree to disagree seeing how most of the time when I say something you want to start an argument over it. third of all I don't want to constantly have to slug a CHAIR over to my room and open it limited space so I would have to sit on my bed but again whatever you say bud i'm done.

Btw I don't own a pc copy. I got a buddy pass from a friend of mine

I'd say the benefit would be the ability to play FFXIV when your PC was unusable (such as when running a virus scanner or if it needed to be repaired).

That's true, but many of those interruptions can also exist on the PS3 (e.g. being broken, or needing an update)

All I was originally trying to communicate was that you do not need to buy a console version of the game to get "the couch experience," nor do you need it to play with a gamepad or even specifically a PS3 controller.

    True.

I plan on getting both, so that if one system was down during my free time, I could still play FFXIV.

You know with the whole comment about limited memory and such on PS3 I was half expecting a surprise announcement for FFXIV on PS Vita.
