I do know that time and gravity are related, I do know the higher the gravity the faster time travels, and it would be possible to travel to the future by orbiting a black hole due to the immense gravitational pull, I am a great fan of Dr Hawking's work.
For that you should look more at Kip Thorne works, as he's the one who really put the serious thought of time travel into actual theory research, if you like Hawking, you'll love Thorne.
Also SE was smart to relate a gravity aeon/summon/gf/primal/etc with time travel and such.

I do agree they were very smart, I don't know how much the great physicists work is translated, but it would have been a hard translation, and could be hard for people not into physics to understand even when translated. It really is thinking into it all well, but when it does come to the classic summons I would prefer they keep to the classic ideals of them. For FFXI I think it would have been better if they used a unique gravity based avatar for the time travel, and keep Atomos with G-force 199.
