I don't understand why we are still arguing this is freaking pointless... as starlord said its like beating a dead freaking horse which feels like what I'm doing all the time in these damn forums o.o/

    either way I give up

I'm a legacy member because I played the game from December on payed for each month~ I have no regret paying "10 dollars" a month for FFXIV throughout those months I still had fun... sucks for the ppl who left and missed out =3

I will beat this horse until there is no horse. I have no problem with it. For some reason not very many people want to stick up for those who got caught in misdirection and misinformation.

It doesn't matter if Starlord can find the information. If you have been reading my posts you would know that his given legacy information is meaningless to my point. And you repeating the meaningless information doesn't help the horse either - by your post you are insinuating you care about the horse lol.

That being said I am glad you are proud to support SE - that's how loyal customers should feel, and that's how good businesses should treat all their customers (even after 2.0 launch - who prove loyal).

    Returning Players
Players who played before January 5, 2012 and wish to resume playing again will need to register for a 90-day subscription before Saturday, June 30, 2012 in order to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign.

I hate to be insulting but IF THIS IS VAGUE you need to go back to elementary school.
The info is wrong now because of the Free play period starting on Sep 30. So unless Beta test starts Sep 30, which is unlikely, they need to change that info page.

Without october and part of nov being free periods, some other people would be able to get their full 3 months paid before beta testing starts, but that wont be possible unless they allow the option to pay in october, and beyond.

Alpha testing hasn't even started yet, and beta could start sometime later like in december.

To recap, the Legacy Campaign is our little way of saying thanks to those adventurers who have stuck by us even after billing commenced—for standing fast through rain, hail, shine, and the Seventh Umbral Era. Be sure not to miss out on this limited-time opportunity!

PS: It was known that you need 3 month payed for legacy. It was known that 1.23 is the last main patch for the current version. It was very risky to start the game many weeks after the 1.23 start to get legacy.

Yup, sry bro but you clearly missed the cut-off date which was over a month ago. You would have had to select the 90-day option and get billed for it prior to that date.

If your are trying to prove the above guy wrong dont forget to read this:

You know what that means? they expect people to be coming back - they want the money from more subscriptions because they where sinking ship (which is why they would leave it out in the public - they want people to see it and "want it"). As a company and not just FFXIV they haven't done so well in the past few years. The legacy plan was a brilliant way to ensure full support of the development team while they clean up.

And even in that post the cutoff date was still beta- not a month before beta (depending on date perspective, 29th being a cut off has screwed it up a little).

For this there was the "welcome back" campaign. Everyone who has already an account (active or inactive) got 2 weeks free time. This was in April.

My last statement is still true that you waited too long. 1.23 is the last main patch. It should be understandable that the end of the game is near and that the chance is high that there is no longer 3 month left.

Why would you assume I need it lol?

And it doesnt matter what patch it is you in your own link have sent the requirement given out by Yoshida, and the only one visible on the main page for Legacy - Beta. Beta. Beta. Beta. not 1.23, Beta.

You should read the thread before posting.. here is a cp of one post - again like others are bringing up meaningless points:

EDIT: Dont mean to insinuate that Agoven's post is meaningless - he brings up good points. People however are distracted on what they know and not on what "other" people know. Its not as I said again and again about what SE intended it is what SE has done (intention != reality).

When we adhere to a contract we read the fine print (some do at least [I know the majority of you don't...otherwise we wouldn't be in the housing crisis we are in.]) It is never in one neat short tidy spot. It is almost always riddled with "copy," "legal jargon," "big words"

When we remove ourselves from being human and no longer speaking on a one on one basis of understanding we get "this (whatever this is)."

That is why "Customer Service" exists. It is why when we don't understand we find reason to...it is humanity .

I respond to these threads because, frankly, I'm sick of the state of HYPER Entitlement that is prevalent in today's society.

I guess that's what we're being taught in society these days. People make it like they didn't have a choice, or they couldn't have made an informed decision before jumping in. And blaming others rather then taking responsibility.

We all live and work around these ideals. I know someone will respond with why settle?! My answer...Because it's not always about you...
I think a common misconception is that the entitlment and such problems is a recent thing "wrong with society" - "this day everything is going to hell, I remember when I was growing up" ... Most of the time its just rose colored glasses speaking.

We've always had these issues the only difference is we have a larger population.

Now back onto SE, everything you said defintely has its place.

However I dont know how you can honestly suggest that reading the fine print when none exists means you should have to google and post and interview customer service. No fine print -should- mean exactly what the page then says. The page says before start of beta. That isnt something you can misinterpret.

And there was no minsunderstanding reading the main page - no one was like "Dur.. I dont get it, before beta?" the only thing a normal and logical human should worry is when beta starts (after servers close).

End of logic, anything beyond that is unreasonable expectation upon the user base (hence why I called it underhanded a few posts back). Definitely the information is out there, but it is silly to expect that every single thing someone does they are going to research.

We'd never get anything done because everyone would be learning everything already learned. You cant learn it all - so you rely on people to give you a proper shake. We have legal battles over this - and they are won usually by the user (so in general there is an idea of failed communication - im not making this shit up lol). That is why most companies are very explicit. Of course Legacy isnt a contract so its not really a sueable matter, but the context of properly delivering information is still important.

SE is not shaking properly by leaving an outdated page front and center, as there is important new information that needs to be added to it but hasnt. Even though this issue has been talked about many times.
