Giving credit where credit is due, FFXI wasn't the entity doing it well, the fansites and users who contributed to them were the ones who did all the work, the way I see options like this more about shifting the information's location, and hey, there's still the option to turn it off if you'd like to do it the old fashioned way.

If what we are given in beta is widely panned by the testers, they will probably make changes, but if too many people don't hate it, then it may not be changed and that will be disappointing. At this point the reasonable response will be to speak with your wallet and vacate the subscription. It's one of those downfalls to the hobby we have all chosen, that it is controlled to such a degree by so many other people and it can change in ways we do not enjoy. Do what you can to make the changes you would enjoy seeing but stop throwing buzzwords and insults, making changes and influencing opinions is harder to do when you act like a jackass.
I bet they won't really address the issue before the alpha, and hope for most people to just get used to it and become silent about it, during the test period. But i also bet people that will look into FFXIV at the 2.0 state would also be put off by the downgraded animation, since its not only bad compared to 1.0, but compared to other games too. We need to be vocal.

Then you may have to come to peace with this reality, because garnering support for your cause isn't helped by calling people "herp-a-derps". The sort of folks you want on your side will be influenced by reasoned polite arguments that don't try and insult their intelligence. Unfortunately, at least from personal observation of people in my relatively local community, you never have that many of those types which is disappointing but also means all you end up doing is screaming at a brick wall, for the popular method of internet persuasion tends not to work on the more stubborn folks.

I just don't see this as much of a deal breaker. Watching the video I still feel as immersed as I ever have watching anything with FFXIV. I didn't even notice the lack of this animation until it was pointed out, even though I watched every video we've got for 2.0.

The animations in 1.0 are a bit longer but I really don't see why this warrants a 600+ post discussion with people raging fairly hard over the dev's decision. Maybe it's just me though but I don't see it.
It's okay, you simply don't observe / value things other people do. Its not a mystery.

I just hope the majority does not share your opinion, because then, there is no hope for us.

Yet you guys say animations doesn't equal aesthetics. So there for, what does this have to do with gameplay.

To me, game mechanics and game aesthetics are intertwined. They are a package deal and you can't separate them.

If one sucks, it drags the other down with it.

Which is helped with a non-rokienesque poll post, as well as petitioning questions about such things for the live player's poll, and it may be up to you and those who agree with you to make sure these issues see the light of day in lieu of whatever beta testing populations don't come from 1.0 players. I'm merely cautioning that going too hardcore in your efforts will only serve to drive people away, and given the opportunities we're being given to still affect great changes throughout a beta with an indefinite end period, there isn't an extreme need for urgency yet (ala the summoning system folks were freaking out about a little while ago).

but some times a litle more aesthetic makes gameplay sucks a lot , and that's the case here .
If there was no problems with that SE wouldn't have changed it that much .It cost them more time to modify the game for the new animations for little result ( except the possibility to walk backward while facin an ennemy .

What Nemy said. You simply value different parts of the game differently. For me, I think of Llen moving in that janky way, possibly losing the ability to track things with her eyes. Maybe she loses the smooth catlike running she has, or the seriously over-done hip swing of her walk. Maybe sitting down or getting back up isn't done as smoothly. What I see when I picture those things is a loss of a connection from myself to my character.

That extends to other player characters too. If they feel alive, I can more easily see them as real people, and I can connect with them better. For people like me, it's the little things that all add up to making the game, and your character, feel really alive.

In any case, I'm glad your excitement hasn't been hampered by Rukirii's post. I was champing at the bit for 2.0 until today. Now... I desperately need to play it, but only to make sure that my Llen is still the Llen I know and love.

Totally just disqualified myself for alpha access xD
