We confirmed with the Battle Team that like everything else, the rights to the loot will go to the party that makes the initial claim.

Has there been any updates on the spawn times?
Why's the rum gone?!

I know you probably hear this alot; but why can't it be like GW2 where it doesn't matter who claims; everybody can get something independent of each other?
All public/group event's that aren't instance (basically most mobs/nm's) will drop something to you if you helped kill it; but the rarity factor affects that of course. ^^

i think like GW2 after the end of the boss a chest would pop up with goodies, i mean you give people zero initiative do out out there and do stuff like that. i mean i'm sure if you give people a chance at the drop there will be people there. If they get nothing because of the claim, this will lead to MPK and LS vs LS fighting with the stronger elite LSs.
hell i bet people wouldn't mind DM

This is how Rift's 'open world' events work, they're not without drama from some segment or other of the playerbase but generally I think it's preferable to the asinine camping situation XI suffered from and now sadly XIV is also following.I know you probably hear this alot; but why can't it be like GW2 where it doesn't matter who claims; everybody can get something independent of each other?

Thanks for the clarification, Rukkirii (and you too, Battle Team). It's unfortunate for the community as a whole, though. Now no one will help one another if they don't have claim, so there will be no point even going out to try as a small group--at least one that doesn't want to steal claim right at the end.
I'm sure it's just that the 1.0 architecture can't support the idea of everyone getting their hands in the cookie jar for participating, but it's still a disappointment to hear.
