How about no? I honestly still do have a lot of time even with college, but I shouldn't need to spend all that time sitting at a camp twiddling my thumbs for 18 hours. I've conquered a majority of this games content, and i'm having a harder time finding motivation to log on. You don't hold an event and make it start randomly when there isn't much left to do. I'll await your ignorant response.

Where is Hildibrand when we need him!!
no linkshell communication on the moon!?
elites drop crystals pretty often. if you are getting crystals while others have claim, it proves it.
I can confirm that getting a "killshot" does not indicate where the drops go. As far as I can tell so far, proximity to the mob (I got a hat when it was purple to me, and I nor anyone else in my party got the killing blow on the elite that dropped it) is the only thing that matters.
So far after hours of farming, I haven't seen any confirmation whatsoever they drop from anything but the elite packs.
I can confirm proximity is not a factor. Myself and some friends were out at iron lake. We had a alt camp'd at the east pop side while we were at northwest for ease of saving the run to check when if the opposing side bad pop'd. Upon killing a imperial his alt still received the drop rate over 500yalms away without touching it.
Honestly we didn't even know loot went that far, (neither did we know it dropped to the mule till after the event was over and he found a tricorne in his inventory lol)
*Loot will drop to to the party that has claim (and has held claim) while killing it OR the party who's member gets a killing blow while it is leashing.
^- If it was leashing and we got killing blow we would see drops occasionally. But we also had a case where a PLD claimed the centurion around 5% after he fully reset and returned to position, used hollow ground while our party finished it off, then received a hat. So as stated before, the killing blow isn't what's causing the drops it's that the mob is 'leashing' so the person's party who is getting that killing blow is receiving the loot if loot is to drop.

Every time based event they've done so far gets to the point to where you'd have to ignore it to miss it. What in the world make you think this is any different? Wait it out, sit back and chill out.How about no? hur dur i await your ignorant response
You get crystals/shards from mobs for participating in battle (having any sort of aggro) so no this is not a way to confirm this.
With the primal fights, the grand companies and the return of Relic Weapons to tide us over until the 2.0 is ripe and ready for us.
This seems to be the next bullet in the foot for time-sinking us and keeping us anchored before 2.0 is released, its almost like they are saying "We're almost done with the new content, but here have this bone for now to chew on".
Just two hats, 4 hour wait period everyone finally discovering it and mauling at it. Perfect!
Considering you KNOW it will be 18 hours, how about going and doing SOMETHING ELSE?? Like...maybe REAL LIFE stuff? Or whatever. No one is forcing you to sit and do nothing. How about no? Anyone tell me when the last one was?
