Thread: 1.23 Imperial Event

I can say with about 95% certainty that you have to have claim on the mob to get a hat drop. I did this event for about 10 hours the first day it went up. I saw about 7-8 hats drop total throughout the course of those 10 hours. Every time it dropped, we had claim on that mob. I think the killshot theory came about because of leashing the mobs and the lag/delay of the mob name's color change. If you kill the mob and it's yellow, chances are that your killshot got you claim.

Also, in response to Coolhand Lou's post earlier in this thread. I was in that party and I was engaged in battle with H-1/elites with another member of the party. I cannot say with 100% certainty that I or my friend who was fighting next to me didn't have claim on a mob at the time of the hat drop. We were spamming aoes.

However, I'll admit that the drop was suspiciously close to the end of the event when all mobs despawned. I can't honestly say that it didn't drop at the end of the event. I can say though that the player that it dropped to had no hate on any of the elites, was not engaged to the elites, or in the general vicinity of the battle at the time of the drop. Her only connection to the elite group was she was in party with 2/4 members who were actively fighting/aoeing H-1/elite group that was attacking a LS that was straight tanking the H-1.

Poor loot system or not. The thing I don't like about this event so far is how damn random it is. College has started again and I have a lot of things to do in the day. I don't have the time to sit at a camp for 18 hours only to find out it spawned in JP time. Why not have it go 4hr on and then 4hr off like it was? Was it necessary to make it this complicated when a majority of your end game players have NOTHING to do?

Every time based event they've done so far gets to the point to where you'd have to ignore it to miss it. What in the world make you think this is any different? Wait it out, sit back and chill out.

elites drop crystals pretty often. if you are getting crystals while others have claim, it proves it.

You get crystals/shards from mobs for participating in battle (having any sort of aggro) so no this is not a way to confirm this.

With the primal fights, the grand companies and the return of Relic Weapons to tide us over until the 2.0 is ripe and ready for us.

This seems to be the next bullet in the foot for time-sinking us and keeping us anchored before 2.0 is released, its almost like they are saying "We're almost done with the new content, but here have this bone for now to chew on".

Just two hats, 4 hour wait period everyone finally discovering it and mauling at it. Perfect!

Considering you KNOW it will be 18 hours, how about going and doing SOMETHING ELSE?? Like...maybe REAL LIFE stuff? Or whatever. No one is forcing you to sit and do nothing.

From what I've seem, claim matters and killshot does not. I think people claiming that claim doesn't matter, may be trying to convince people to not vie for claim, and therefore improve their own chances of getting and keeping claim. /conspiracytheorist
