Hamlet Defense would be still ingame, but the way to defend them can change. Like I said, details.
This doesn't necessarily mean Hamlet Defense will be staying, it just means Hyrstmill is still there and you can do some quests there.

The reps said that your current progress for relic weapons will be saved, but there's really no progress recorded until you actually turn in the beastmen seals. So it sounds like the content revolving around getting the promissory note and beyond will still exist in ARR to cater to those who are still working on a relic.

I imagine the quest is going to change in some respects, it's just unknown how until we actually get our hands on the game. Beastmen sound like they're going to be a major part of the story in ARR, so it's quite possible hamlet defense will stay and the relic quest doesn't change much at all. We'll just have to wait and see.

yeah, right, sure. let's just marginalize more content for the casuals. let's take the challenge and work out of every aspect of the game so there's nothing left for people who play specifically for that.

great idea, as usual. except, you know- relic is supposed to take a bit of luck, a lot of work and a lot of skill. i guess we just shouldn't bother having relic at all?

anyway, my LS has gotten full seal sets for about two dozen players now, and hamlet isn't even anywhere close to a priority. people need to stop making excuses and just get it done.
Skill is one thing. Having to repeat an event 100+ time to finish all 9 seals isn't even skill. That's just pure luck, especially when you're doing 60K~70K runs 95% of the time.

no hamlets aren't skill. that is all about being dedicated and motivated to do them. the other parts of the quest outside of the hamlets and double melding are more skill involved.

most groups don't have the skill and coordination to get a 25 min speed run in either dungeon much less complete it in 17 minutes.

most groups can't go through and kill garuda in less than 10 min without anyone dying.

most groups can't beat ifrit extreme.

i'm not saying that the entire quest is skill related, but to act like the entire quest is luck based is off base. yes, there are parts that are just spam the same stuff over and over and hope to get lucky, but multiple parts of the quest does actually require skill and most groups are not able to reach the level required.

Though for the double meld and hamlet seals you can replace luck with money lol.
Fraction leve has nothing to do with luck.
Darkhold has nothing to do with luck.
Spirit Bond has nothing to do with luck.
Caravan and behest has nothing to do with luck.
Beastmen coins has as much luck as every other farming
Killing the beastmen NM has nothing to do with luck (except you are in a PUG party who don't know how to fight them)
Killing Leve NM has nothing to do with luck

I havent gotten anywhere with the relic quest but it would not be so bad imo if you could flag the quest immediately by speaking to Gerolt rather than having to get seals and a note. Gerolt should give an AF-1 at flagging the quest. That way you could at least make progress for things like AV or CC salts, NMs, Factions, Spiritbonding, Primals. At the moment you can make progress with beastcoins or melding, but everything else is just in limbo it seems. If it was that way at least you could make passive progress towards the quest and treat it like achievements. The players would then be willing to engage in any of the contents at any time rather than people grinding hamlet for 2 weeks, spiritbonding for days, trying primals non stop for days on end.

its done in steps.... and step 1 is your seals
the only step that you can do in any order is the DH/Caravan/behest part cause the order doesn't matter its all the same part of the quest

Yeah too bad people were talking about Hamlet Defense in terms of luck, but I'll use your post:

Never implied that Hamlets are skill. It's about luck, unless you're willing to work your ass off to get #1, #2, and #3, and it's still about partially luck and more about a lot of work.

Never denied that's skill. That is truly skill, as it is the skill of teamwork.

My post is mainly about Hamlet, not the rest of the quest. The rest of the quest is definitely about group skill and hardwork. There is no denying that at all. Hamlet is just a bullshit part of the whole thing.
