Actually I made the response on another summon list thread that when they bring Primals back into 2.0..I'd love to see them redo KotR as moogles, seriously. Think of how ridicilous it would be if you had a score of moogles all swarm out of the skies, smack down your opponent, with the King Moogle coming down from above and skewering it with a massive sword. It would be awesome. lol

Could've sworn Kefka isn't a summon at any point in the FF series. But Cait Sith was before FFVII came out.

i liked your idea of heal, tank, damage summon. but i think it would be hard to balance. they would have to be weaker than PC tanks, healers, damage. but at the same time strong enough to make them worth playing, seems like that woud be a balancing nightmare

I don't think it would be hard to balance at all. It would be like Druid for World of Warcraft.

Just an example (and I know that primals are off the list)

Carbuncle/Resto=Healer
Titan/Feral=Tanking
Shiva/Boomkin=Caster
and so on.

Just put a restriction like a 1min Cooldown for casting a summon. Would be like a Swiss army knife. Can do a little of everything but not as good.

Yeah but the thing is that all of the Primals are essentially a form of the elements so ALL of them have a magical nature, so you can't just have 1 classified as a caster since they all have that function to cast whatever element they possess.

Think outside the box bro. Each magic could be dedicated to tanking, healing or dps. Titan "cast" boulder that generates enimity...blah blah blah and so on.

I find that Ifrit would be more of a tank than Titan but I'm a huge Ifrit fan. XD
