hmm im also having trouble understanding exactly what he's saying

"Similarly in the current version, even when players add large amounts of INT and STR via equipment with multiple materia and such, it may feel like damage is not increasing"

dont these two statements contradict eachother? and I have no reference to what exactly 1:1 actually means.

"Fundamentally, battle related stats fluctuate based on the level difference between enemies, and this is also why we are not planning to display evasion rates and other things."

I think this is the entire problem.

It seems very complicated.

I kinda like when gear is tiered so when you get a certain gear set you are able to go onto the harder content and get the better gearset so on and so forth.. i definately feel there is a greater sense of progression with that system among other advantages like being able to guage a players ability when attempting to make a party for whatever level of content.

whatever it means- at least there has been some thought put into the subject so that cant be bad.
