For players with all level 50 classes (I doubt many players would really have all classes at 50) there would coming a new class to level and 3 new story lines to exploreWe can make any excuse we want. Its a new game, not an expansion but a re-release, if you start from level 1 you have plenty of content. That does not matter a huge chunk of the population has most jobs at 50.
IT does not change the fact that if there is not enough content for those with all level 50 classes/jobs atm... you will have an exodus of players. We waited for this game to get endgame once.... I do not see many people giving SE a third chance if they bomb the content department again.
They might have alittle time after launch... like 1-2 weeks tops to get endgame ready if it is not at launch.
http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/g...ew.html/page/1"There will be three major storylines included in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The first is a large, overarching story, one not alike what you find in World of Warcraft. Basically, it covers the Garlean Empire and how they've invaded and how the people of the Realm are attempting to get their Realm back." Yoshida began.
He continued, moving on to detail the second story. "The second story is going to be a story surrounding the Primals which are the summons in Final Fantasy XIV and how there are many different Beast Tribes that worship these Primals and how these Primals, when summoned, drain the lifeforce of the planet. Whenever they're out, they weaken the place. Thus, the second story is going to revolve around how the people of the Realm are fighting the Beast Tribes and how they're attempting to stop the Beast Tribes from bringing this threat to the planet. There's also a bit on how the Garlean Empire is kind of involved in this as well. “
"Finally, we're going to be looking at a continuation of what is going to happen at the end of the current version. A giant entity in the sky, Dalamud, is coming towards the planet and it's threatening all life there. Basically, what's going to happen at the time Dalamud comes and the period after that, we have the story solve all those mysteries that were left untied at the end of the story.
“Of course, the story will be told through many, m any different quests. We have a large number of questions that we will be implementing and these will range from very short quests that will only hint at the background story to very Final Fantasy-esque high quality cutscenes with lots of dialogue and exposition. “

They're converting and revamping all current content for ARR, so in your words:
The only content for ARR wasn't Crystal Tower and PvP.it's as simple as that.
Yet SE themselves told us they're porting 1.0's content in -- if everyone at cap with everything done won't have much to do, that's not fully on SE's mind -- New people wouldn't have done anything and would have plenty to do -- that's the bottom line, people who will join ARR will have lots to do, we don't even know the extent of the changes to the current content yet to state that SE will be releasing no content with ARR.

Apparently Yoshida saying a couple of things won't be in immediately at launch = no new content at launch. Gotta love how people take things and run with them.
For new players, there's tons of content they haven't even started yet. For old players there's a whole new world to explore, new storylines, new quests and revamped versions of the current content. Don't expect to just go into what we have now using the same strategies, they've outright told us that it won't work.

Did they completely change the direction you want to go with A Realm Reborn?
Yoshida: Uhm, a lot of the high profile members of the team changed and new people came to create a new core team but the remainder of the development team stays pretty much the same. It wasn’t like we had to start explain to everyone what they had to do. We had to explain the current team that we need to have updates for the current version of Final Fantasy XIV and at the same time create a new game, so we had to tell them that pretty much everything they are making over the year will be thrown away, so it will completely go to waste. To motivate the team telling them that all will be thrown away was very difficult to explain and hard on them. But when you look at the current version of the game and the changes we made that aren’t changes we made without motivation, but with a limited amount of resources.

They are, they said current strategies won't work which means the design in 1.0 won't be the same design in ARR, since once 1.0 goes offline that means that work is gone -- it's common developer talk lol.

The name and type of content will be ported, everything else will be changed. So Aurum Vale the Dungeon will still be Aurum Vale the Dungeon, it just won't physically resemble the same dungeon and the objectives, enemies and bosses will be different. Ifrit the Primal will still be Ifrit the Primal, the strategy, venue and available attacks will likely change.Sadly... they won't be ported over, only the name.... from this Interview Answer from Yoshida: http://jpgames.de/2012/08/gamescom-2...naoki-yoshida/
Hmm..The name and type of content will be ported, everything else will be changed. So Aurum Vale the Dungeon will still be Aurum Vale the Dungeon, it just won't physically resemble the same dungeon and the objectives, enemies and bosses will be different. Ifrit the Primal will still be Ifrit the Primal, the strategy, venue and available attacks will likely change. Is a Contradiction to what your guys are saying ^.^ lol idn about you, but the way he says it its like You see all this Content we made? Yeah.. were trashing it come 2.0.. Sorry guys >.<.so we had to tell them that pretty much everything they are making over the year will be thrown away, so it will completely go to waste.

What he was saying is that that specific version of the content would be trashed. Basically:
"Hey guys I need you to make the Aurum Vale dungeon for this version. We're changing it in 2.0 but we need one for this version."
http://jpgames.de/2012/08/gamescom-2...naoki-yoshida/Yoshida: The raids in the current version are basically things we have put together with very limited methods and that is why they are limited at the moment. This is not what we want to do in A Realm Reborn, we want to create many different things.
The current versions were just thrown together for this version with limited means. Aurum Vale 1.0 will be trashed, Aurum Vale 2.0 will be the new one we see.
I suppose that makes sense ^.^. It was just weird how he put itWhat he was saying is that that specific version of the content would be trashed. Basically:
