Square-Enix, WORST MARKETING EVER... For the love of God, WHY?!

And for those of you who are wondering about Yoshi-P’s scheduled presentation and real-time demonstration, unfortunately we do not have any plans at the moment to release videos or to do a live broadcast. We will however be releasing information through various media interviews, so be sure to watch out for them.

After losing so many money on the 1.x , Rebuilding 2.0, why they're not investing money on the marketing, the MOST IMPORTANT thing? They don't even know the power of talking mouths. Or of the media?

The presentation video is AWESOME itself, but how it could generate any type of interest or hype to media, major site, or even, how i can talk about of it to my friends? If most of them didn't know that the game has been showed, and it actual looks great?

Something like this would work?
"Hey look this crappy quality video, but believe me, the game will be great. "

Same with major site, they can't even create an article in this way...

And most important thing... This was supposed to be the most important day since FFXIV 2.0 was announced, and we didn't got any streaming. We just got a presentation video taken with a crappy 480p phone (god bless the user that recorder it btw), in german language.

Well, yes i'm angry, because if SE marketing will continue in this closed mind way:

It is not only the marketing they should worry about. Square-Enix thinks PR is more important... since the media thrashed FFXIV 1.0 and affected so negatively the game earlier. And since media is giving so little attention to FFXIV these days, they should think about doing the announcements themselves via official mediums (Final Fantasy XIV has his own "official" forums, twitter, facebook, youtube channel... you name it).

I can't believe we are informed via unofficial ways quicker than the official channels.
I agree, they should fire their entire marketing department... they don't even seem to care about all the efforts of the Devs.

Yeah. I really don't want to jump to conclusion...But from what I've seen so far, I'm in WTF mode right now. I hope they have something else like a good 10 mins of gameplay or more. While I was dissapointed about the news, this is a massive exaggeration. You also don't know whether or not what other promotional plans they might have up their sleeves.

Oh god, don't give it to Kotaku. All you'll hear from them is "Wark wark FFXIV is still around lol look at this garbage video runescape looks better lol they think adding jumping and trees will make it better lol look at that grass this game will fail." And the comments will be nothing but "lol they should just let this game die lol rename it ffxv lol why is it not f2p no chance itll beat gw2 lol." And so on.
