Well based on the screenshots, the grass and tree/plant textures in general look atroucious. The pixelated shadows that they're casting, don't help the situation either. As far as I can remember, Yoshida said the quality would be about 15% better? If that's the case, this is pretty much what we'll get.
That said, it's a whole different deal when you watch it in motion. The tree/plant textures are just as bad in 1.0, but I don't really mind or notice it unless I stop and zoom in on them.

I agree. The lighting system in play could make them look pretty good, but the first SS with the pixelated shadows are pretty... well... horrible.
Everything else looks so good too.
He said what they were showing at E3 was around 15% of final quality I believe.Well based on the screenshots, the grass and tree/plant textures in general look atroucious. I don't see a problem with the grass, by looking at the screenshots I feel like they belong and it's better than what FFXIV has right now.

Something like that is just going to be a fact when on the PS3. The hardware is very limited and thye will have to take shortcuts. Now if they have the PC version set to be more scalable like they say they will then they can add more details like that.
