Yes, I grind, way more than you do. I can tell you that grinding is not better than leves at all. And that you are just wasting your time if you are ignoring leves (with full links).

Just because grinding is not better than leves doesn't mean its not a valid option for people who would rather grind. You understand that right? A valid option is whatever people have fun doing.

yes but your whole argument is that grinding is viable always, it isn't, it isn't until you actually get to raptor parties, even coblyns are no longer good to grind at lower ranks.

i personaly dont do it

when i did do it the 1 time, we were the only ones there so maybe it is possible, if you are alone.....


it is still slower then leves, BUT lets face the real fact here


you can only do so many leves every 36 hours....so ANY sp earned in between those hours, is time spent getting more progress regardless of how much per hour it is or whatever

Of course grinding is viable, always. If you'd rather grind because you enjoy that more than leves, that makes it viable.

Coblyns were mostly used for solo grinds.
I was effectively grinding on Billys with another friend at r20 for 400 sp a kill 2 days ago.
Crabs were always fun to grind on, end efts too.

Exactly. However, that still doesn't address one other issue. Even if all leves were worthwhile to do, people would still intentionally fail leves so that they would have the same leves available to link again with their friends who do the same thing.

The solution to this would be to

1. Implement your suggestion of making the potential SP gain for all the leves be relatively similar in quantity.

2. Have all leves for any given camp be selectable, not just 3 random ones.

3. Redoing a failed leve does not award SP for killed mobs, but you can still get the gil/marks/item rewards at the end.

I still think its an exploit or something to be fixed. I fail to see how SE allows "heros" to not act the part.

EVeryone quit arguing for a moment and take a breath and remember the following


1) this isnt a thread about grinding, but leves

2) even if it was, you can only do 8 leves per 36 hours, any grinding you do would be in between that anyway, and thus is a viable option, PERIOD. There is no other way to look at it,m if we both do leves, and i grind, i WILL beat you to 50, period.
