No you assume people dont. If grinding was a reasonable way to rank up people would do it, but it isnt. sure I can kill hogs for 250-300 sp a kill but it takes me way to long to do it and it is also quite dangerous hence not reasonable.

The 'dangerous' part is a whole nother topic at hand. What's the point in ranking up if it's gonna bet that easy and not somewhat dangerous.

I already mentioned raptor parties are decent sp if you have the proper set up.

no body said anything about wanting easy mode, but having to cast cure II or sac II between every other hit and use about every defensive ability available just to stay alive during that time becomes to much risk for reward.

yes but your whole argument is that grinding is viable always, it isn't, it isn't until you actually get to raptor parties, even coblyns are no longer good to grind at lower ranks.

Of course grinding is viable, always. If you'd rather grind because you enjoy that more than leves, that makes it viable.

I didn't say it wasn't viable i said it wasn't reasonable, sure people can do it sure its an option, that doesn't make it a good one though. you people are arguing for the sake of argument. Grinding is a shit way to rank up, everyone knows it, its one of the largest complaints of the FFXIV community it is the #1 reason why everyone leve links and leve fails if grinding was a good way to rank then no one would be doing the boring ass leves, plain and simple you cant argue that.

You did say it wasnt viable. If you want to change and now say it wasn't reasonable I agree with you that if you want the most SP for your time it may not be reasonable to alot of people, but that doesn't mean its not viable if you prefer it to leves.

Coblyns were mostly used for solo grinds.
I was effectively grinding on Billys with another friend at r20 for 400 sp a kill 2 days ago.
Crabs were always fun to grind on, end efts too.

Doesn't count if this was before rank 24, btw. Not being rude or anything but experience point values are really inflated before then. Past 24, you reach the normal game.

Doesn't really matter whether you're defending guildleves, grinding, behests, or slamming your head against the wall, it all works well before rank 24. The TNRs are low, and the experience points you get are boosted.

Still though, I grinded after R24 with antlings and they still netted you good sp gains.. Just no one goes out to grind after r30, especially since NO ONE is at camps unless it's a LS doing leve fails

it is true that no one grinds before raptors really anymore

but if you are a pure combat class...theres no reason to not try to do it in between leves
