Heres another quality over quantity issue i have been having some trouble with. The +1, +2, +3 items.

We no longer recieve any +1, or +2 items from enemy drops anymore. This was removed because people were complaining that they didnt have enough inventory space to have 4 different versions of the items. This is a prime example of what I'm talking about. Instead of taking the time to make a quality fix they just rushed out some quick fix that just creates more problems.

If we are not going to recieve +1, or +2 items, why not do away with them and just have standard and +1?
    or
Make all qualities of the same item only count as 1 inventory slot, so you could have 99 logs, 99 +1 logs, 99 +2 logs and 99 +3 logs, all only taking one inventory slot.

Those are just 2 ideas that are better than what they did imo, but I'm sure there are many other solutions that are better too

What do you think? like if you agree.

You are darn right, even if your solution is only another quick fix that doesn't really address the root of the problem.

The real solution would be for the devs to ask themselves: "Why do the players have so many problems to manage their inventories?"

This is related to the number of different items a single player will encounter during his playtime, including loot, gathering and its own crafting, related to the number of different jobs he do (more jobs = more items types), related to the number of different zones he goes through (more zones = more items types), related to the ease of selling/trading/throwing away some items (less way to discard them = more items types), related to the inventories (bags/retainer/housing) space.

Balancing all of this altogether is something really complicated, and requires a lot of thought to become enjoyable for everyone while still keeping the notion of inventory space management in the game.

Most of the games increase the inventory size as the player levels, in a way or another, while keeping it always at a point where he can play for at least few hours between two item sorting pauses. FF14 makes this a lot more complicated due to the number of class you can have at the same time and the quantity of crafting materials. They should really have a look at Eve Online inventory management, as this is one of the few games with the same diversity in roles and items types for a single player.

And even all of this considered, the result will have to follow the changes that will happen to the other parts of the game....
