What The Black Shroud should look like.

So I recently as I going about my daily task in Eorzea, in The Black Shroud. I started thinking why does this forest look so plain, so lifeless almost like it was in a "video games" well I know it is video game, I being a super detailed cute Dunesfolk that is full of life.

In the time that am not in the world of Eorzea running around and /panic at random things. I player other games, yes I know I am a monster. A recent game I started playing was The Witcher2 and I ran around exploring The Witcher2. I found some amazing forest places, and I thought why doesn't The Black Shroud look anything like this. So here are some screen shots.

If you have any Ideas what went wrong please feel free to leave them, If you would want a more forestie zone in The Black Shroud let tell us what you would do to add more life into the world of Final Fantasy 14.

So what made me think why, I should compare these two games, Final Fantasy 14, and The Witcher2 is one being a single player game and the other a massively multiplayer game. The computer spec are lower on The witcher2 and looks better than 14. I know a lot resources go to net coding, but really that much, where you can go from http://www.ffxivinfo.com/images/screenshots/ffxiv-562.jpg to this http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/856/2011053000003.jpg/

I was hoping for the Black Shroud to resemble the Sanctuary of Zi'Tah.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Same! ^_^ When I read "The Last Word – Storm over Gridania" and it was talking about the deaspected crystals, I was thinking "they are doing it!!!".... I guess I got too excited and didn't read it thoroughly enough... :P To this day, though, I still hope they add the Golem family monsters (the ones that used all the crystal attacks) from Zi'Tah to XIV!

Well, perhaps without all of the gloomy lighting and a bit of FF style. Other than that yeah it really should be a lot more open and diverse than it is right now.

But then, all the zones SHOULD be more diverse.

personally I like the Black Shroud's style, I just don't like all the choke points on the damn map, this isn't Starcraft yo!

On a more serious note, I would really hope to see different "feelings" of the woods, after all it is a magical place, why not have some darker, scarier areas within the fairy-tale Zi'tah forest areas?

Like the Witcher2 areas just add a low laying fog and creepy music.

During the day, The Black Shroud stays a peaceful, idyllic forest. But once night comes around, the forest turns deathly quiet and They come out. No one knows what They are or where They come from. Spirits of adventures lost in the woods, some say. Whatever the truth, They are a higher level than any of the creatures in the surrounding areas and very aggressive.

Fortunately, They are unable to cross running water, thus are confided to small sections of The Black Shroud.

Unfortunately, no matter how many times they are killed, they keep coming back, night after night. The Warders only offer one word of warning to travelers stuck alone in the forests at night: run.
