I've never done it myself, but I think the reason they do it is because they can still get full sp for it, then reattempt it the next reset and get full sp for it again, with the chance that they will receive the same leve again, for even MORE sp. .
    Excuse my curiosity, but can you elaborate how you can 'notice' if someone abandons his leve? You said "but I think the reason they do it is..." That implies that you were not told about it by others.
